There are approximately 83,000 registered charities in Canada, as well as roughly 66,000 other nonprofit organizations. Canada's charities employ about 880,000 full-time and 440,000 part-time staff, about 10% of the country's workforce. The total nonprofit sector spends in excess of $100 billion annually, and is estimated to represent 13% of Canada's Gross Domestic.
