How do I turn on cookies?

To enjoy the registered user features of the CharityVillage web site, you need to enable cookies on your web browser. It's quick and simple to turn on the cookies feature. If you have questions about how we use cookies, please review our Privacy Statement.

If you have accidentally declined/rejected cookies from CharityVillage.com, here's how to delete them individually.

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.x You don't have the option to turn off cookies in Explorer version 3.x. Your browser should accept them automatically.

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x (For Windows) Cookies are accepted automatically in Internet Explorer 3.x and up. If you want to confirm that you can accept them:
    1. In Internet Explorer, click "Internet Options" on the "View" menu.
    2. Click the "Advanced" tab, and then click "Always Accept Cookies".
    3. Click OK until you return to Internet Explorer.

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x (For Mac) Cookies are accepted automatically in Internet Explorer 3.x and up. If you want to confirm that you can accept them:
    1. Open the "Edit" menu and select "Preferences."
    2. In the preferences window, click on "Receiving Files" settings.
    3. Under the receiving files settings, you'll see a section named "Cookies". Click on "Cookies"
    4. On the right side of the window, you will see the phrase: "When receiving cookies:" In the pull-down menu, select "Never Ask" or "Ask for each site". If you click "Ask for each site", the next time you receive a cookie from CharityVillage, you will be asked if you want to accept cookies for this site -- Click "Accept".

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x (for Windows) Cookies are accepted automatically in Internet Explorer 3.x and up. If you want to confirm that you can accept them:
    1. In Internet Explorer, click "Internet Options" on the "Tools" menu.
    2. Click the "Security" tab, and then click "Custom Level". Click "Enable" under "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer".
    3. Click OK until you return to Internet Explorer.

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x (for Mac) Cookies are accepted automatically in Internet Explorer 3.x and up. If you want to confirm that you can accept them:
    1. Open the "Edit" menu and select "Preferences."
    2. In the preferences window, click on "Receiving Files" settings.
    3. Under the receiving files settings, you'll see a section named "Cookies". Click on "Cookies"

    3. Click the "Advanced" button
    4. Put a check mark in the Box for "Override Automatic Cookie Handling"
    5. At the bottom, put another check mark in the "Always accept session cookies"
    6. Click "OK"

  • Netscape Navigator 3.x You don't have the option to turn off cookies in Navigator version 3.x. Your browser should accept them automatically.

  • Netscape Communicator 4.x
    1. Open the "Edit" menu and select "Preferences."
    2. In the "Preferences" window, click on the "Advanced" category
    3. Select "Accept All Cookies."
    4. Click "OK."

  • How to delete individual cookies (Windows/Internet Explorer):
    1. Under the "Tools" menu, select "Internet Options"
    2. Click the "General" tab
    3. Under "Temporary Internet Files", click "Settings"
    4. Click "View Files"
    5. Select the cookie to delete (it will be of the form www.charityvillage.com)
    6. Click "Del" key
    7. Click "OK"
