What is the best way to send information to CharityVillage?

We love to hear from our visitors and there are a variety of ways that you can add your own information to CharityVillage®. Below, we've collected a few guidelines to help get you started.

PLEASE NOTE: Because of the proliferation of macro-viruses, we do not accept file attachments created with word-processing programs such as Word and Wordperfect. Click here for help copying word processing documents to email.


How to send us:


Volunteer Listings

Any Canadian charity or nonprofit is welcome to add a free volunteer listing to our Volunteer Bulletin Board for any city listed across the country or for a virtual volunteer.

Here's what to do:

  • Register for free to become a CharityVillage.com advertiser by visiting www.charityvillage.com/cvnet/adv_register2.aspx. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation letter within one business day. From there, you can start posting your own listings on our site.

  • If you are already a registered advertiser, simply log in to our Advertiser Centre to begin posting your ad.

Fundraising and Community Events

Share your next fundraising event with the rest of our visitors in our Fundraising and Community Events section. It's free!

Here's what to do:

  • Register for free to become a CharityVillage.com advertiser by visiting www.charityvillage.com/cvnet/adv_register2.aspx. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation letter within one business day. From there, you can start posting your own listings on our site.

  • If you are already a registered advertiser, simply log in to our Advertiser Centre to begin posting your ad.

Professional Development Events for Nonprofits

Are you holding a conference, association meeting, workshop, course or other professional development event that is open to other nonprofit professionals? If so, you can share the details with your colleagues in our Professional Development Events section. It's free!

Here's what to do:

  • Register for free to become a CharityVillage.com advertiser by visiting www.charityvillage.com/cvnet/adv_register2.aspx. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation letter within one business day. From there, you can start posting your own listings on our site.

  • If you are already a registered advertiser, simply log in to our Advertiser Centre to begin posting your ad.

HelpLink Requests and Offers

HelpLink is an area of CharityVillage® where you can offer or ask for donated goods or services. If you have something to request or offer we'll help spread the word.

Here's what we need:

  1. A brief (40 words maximum) description of what you need or what you want to donate.
  2. Your name.
  3. Preferred method of contact for people to get more information: email, web site, phone, fax (you may list more than one method).
  4. Send your listing via email to marina@charityvillage.com. We really prefer to receive listings via email, but if you have no alternative, click here for our fax and postal address info.

Requests for Links to Your Web Site

If you're a registered Canadian charity or nonprofit organization with a web site, we'll be happy to add a link to your site from our Nonprofit Neighbourhood.

Here's what we need:

  1. Your URL (web address).
  2. A brief (40 words maximum) description of your organization's mission and/or services.
  3. The category where you'd like to be listed on our site. Click here for a list of all sub-categories.
  4. Send your listing via email to marina@charityvillage.com. We really prefer to receive listings via email, but if you have no alternative, click here for our fax and postal address info.

If your policy permits, we'd also appreciate a link back to CharityVillage® from your site. For information on how to add the link, please visit our Link to Us page.


Sending Other Information

If you would like to send any other information to us, please contact us by email at help@charityvillage.com or by phone, fax or post. We'll be happy to help.


How to send info via-email

Here's how to copy text from a Word or WordPerfect document to an eMail message.

It's easy! Just follow these steps:
  1. Open both your completed word processing document and your eMail program.

  2. With your word processing document active, highlight the entire text of your ad with your mouse.

  3. Select "COPY" from the program's menu.

  4. Go to your eMail program and create a NEW MESSAGE addressed to help@charityvillage.com

  5. "PASTE" the text you copied in Step 3 into the body of the message.
