• Database of Funding Agencies

  From the University of British Columbia's Office of Research Services. Searchable by keyword, grant type, research area and deadline, and covers Health Sciences, Natural and Applied Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities. In addition to a long list of Canadian funding sources, the database contains a good cross-section of foreign agencies. • Directory of Potential Sources of Funding for Injury and Substance Abuse Prevention Projects in Ontario

  This directory features both private and public funding sources, as well as practical tips, links, resources, and worksheets for developing successful funding proposals, managing the funding relationship, and working with community partners. While targeted to individuals active in substance abuse and injury prevention, this directory will be useful to a wide range of grassroots community groups.

• Envision.ca Guide to Funding Sources

  Compiled by the Community Services Council Newfoundland and Labrador, this guide features provincial and federal government funding sources, as well as foundations, companies, and other grantmaking agencies.

• Evergreen

  Evergreen's mission is to bring communities and nature together for the benefit of both, through their Learning Grounds, Common Grounds, and Home Grounds programs. They offer funding and expert advice for transforming school grounds and creating outdoor classrooms, conserving publicly accessible lands, and revitilizing the home landscape.

• Funding Agencies and Deadlines

  From the Dalhousie University Office of Research Services. A list of deadlines for major granting programs from government, agencies, and foundations. The site doesn't list contact information for the different granting organizations, but it does offer programs' specific deadlines organized by month. 

• Green Legacies: A donor's Guide for B.C.

  Information about 22 different planned giving options for nature is provided on this site, as well as updates and new information. The Guide is designed for professional advisors assisting donors (lawyers, financial planners, and appraisers), and for donors looking for the range of giving options.

• StudentAwards.com

  This search engine helps students find information on educational scholarships, bursaries, grants, fellowships and other forms of financial assistance.

Arms-Length Agencies and Independent Funding Sources

• Actors' Fund of Canada (The)

  The Actors' Fund of Canada promotes artistic excellence for performers, creators, technicians and other members of creative and production teams in all entertainment industry sectors. The fund carries out this mission by providing encouragement and short-term financial aid to help entertainment industry workers maintain their health, housing and ability to work after an illness, injury or sudden unemployment.

• Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund

  Advances the Canadian broadcasting system by encouraging and funding the creation of excellent Canadian digital media, promoting partnerships and sustainable businesses in the broadcast and new media sectors, engaging in research and sharing knowledge, and enhancing the national and international profiles of industry stakeholders.

• Calgary Learns

  Calgary Learns funds innovative projects and programs that provide learning opportunities for adult Calgarians. It provides both annual and multi-year funding to nonprofit community-focused organizations for a diverse range of foundational learning opportunities.

• Canada Council for the Arts

  A national arm's-length agency that fosters the development of the arts in Canada through grants, services, and awards to professional Canadian artists and arts organizations, as well as administering scholarly awards. The council offers a broad range of grants and services to professional Canadian artists and arts organizations in dance, media arts, music, theatre, writing and publishing, interdisciplinary work and performance art, and the visual arts.

• Canadian Alternative Investment Cooperative

  CAIC was formed in the early 1980s by Catholic religious communities who wanted to pool financial resources in order to make investments promoting social justice. CAIC invests in groups working for positive social change and community economic development in Canada that lack access to traditional financing.

• Canadian Independent Film and Video Fund (CIFVF)

  Dedicated to supporting the development of film, video and new media, the Canadian Independent Film and Video Fund (CIFVF) supports projects that promote lifelong learning and are produced by Canadian independent producers. CIFVF also supports an online mentoring program for new producers.

• Children First: School Choice Trust

  Helps Ontario parents with financial need send their children to an independent school of their choice. Tuition assistance grants will pay 50% of the tuition at any of the 800 independent schools in Ontario, to an annual maximum of $3,500.

• Enterprising Non-Profits (enp)

  enp is a funding program that provides matching grants to nonprofit organizations in BC who are interested in starting or expanding a business. enp program funding enables organizations to conduct planning activities related to the development of a business venture.

• FutureWorks

  Provides wage funding to organizations filling full time positions in the Vancouver region. These funds are provided to off-set the cost of bringing a new employees skills up to speed and can cover up to a maximum of 60% of the wage over a period of up to 24 weeks.

• Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council

  A nonprofit organization whose purpose is to foster the arts of the province by operating financial assistance programmes; providing services and resources; and by working with government and the community for development in the arts.

• Ontario Arts Council

  OAC is an independent agency of the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship, Culture and Recreation that supports artists and arts organizations in Ontario through grants, awards and services. Since its establishment in 1963, OAC has played a vital role in promoting and assisting the development of the arts and artists for the enjoyment and benefit of Ontarians.

• Partnerships for development

  Administered by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, PTP II supports small projects up to a maximum of $10,000, which aim to build and strengthen partnerships and linkages between Canadians and citizens of the Balkans, Central Asia and Eastern Europe. The program is open to participants from all sectors including educational institutions, NGOs, professionals, businesses, individuals, youth (ages 18-30) and government (excluding the Canadian federal government).

• Social Venture Partners Calgary

  Seeks to develop philanthropy and volunteerism to achieve positive social change in the Calgary region. Using the venture capital approach as a model, SVPC is committed to giving time, money and expertise to create partnerships with non-profit organizations.

• Toronto Arts Council (Local: Toronto, ON)

  An arm's length funding body that supports the development, accessibility and excellence of the arts in Toronto. Grants to the city's arts organizations and professional artists invest in a broad range of activities from individual creation and small start-up projects to some of Canada's largest and most renowned arts institutions.

• True Sport (National)

  Through partnerships with Bell Canada, the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation and the True Sport Foundation, True Sport provides a variety of funding programs and awards for communities and athletes across Canada.

• West Coast Environmental Dispute Resolution Fund

  The West Coast Environmental Dispute Resolution Fund is designed to help environmental and community groups use the law to better protect the environment. The fund provides financial assistance to citizens and groups who need legal assistance to resolve environmental issues.

• Worker Co-op Fund

  Owned and managed by the Canadian Worker Co-operative Federation (CWCF), the CWCF was formed to work for the development and expansion of businesses organized according to co-op principles and the principles of worker ownership and control, and to promote the ideals of democracy in the workplace. The $1.5 million Fund helps create new and existing worker-owned co-ops in all regions of Canada.

• World Wildlife Fund Canada (National: Toronto, ON)

  Through the Endangered Species Recovery Fund (ESRF) WWF-Canada sponsors high-priority conservation projects to assist the recovery and protection of endangered Canadian wildlife and their natural habitats.

Corporate Funding Programs

• Adobe

  The company donates copies of their software for a US$35 administrative fee through Gifts in Kind International. The program includes products like Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, PageMaker, InDesign and Premiere.

• Air Canada

  The company considers requests for donations from organizations working to improve the lives of Canada's youth as well as those conducting research into diseases. In some cases they make cash donations, in many others they donate promotional tickets.

• Alcan Inc.

  Through its community investment program, Alcan contributes to Canadian nonprofits and charities in the areas of youth, education, technology, health care research, environment, sports, community services, and the arts.

• Allstate Foundation of Canada (National: Markham, ON)

  Provides grants to charities and not-for-profit organizations that are involved in a variety of activities and/or educational initiatives around crime prevention, road safety, and home safety.

• Allstream (National: Toronto, ON)

  Allstream considers sponsorship opportunities in the areas of arts and culture and education. Potential charitable partners must represent organizations that are non-sectarian and non-denominational. They must also share the Allstream commitment to diversity and equal opportunity, ensuring that all segments of society can benefit from programs and services.

• American Express Foundation (National: Markham, ON)

  American Express supports nonprofit organizations that are preserving and enriching diverse cultural heritage, developing new leaders for tomorrow, and encouraging community service where its employees and customers live and work.

• AstraZeneca Canada

  This company focuses their funding on organizations with educational, research, and health promotion initiatives in health-care fields in which the company also has specific expertise. They also support community initiatives in Mississauga, Ontario and St. Laurent, Quebec, where many of their employees live and work.

• Aviva Canada Inc. (National: Scarborough, ON)

  Aviva focuses their philanthropic efforts in the areas of safety, prevention, and protection of children, and primarily partner with the ThinkFirst Foundation. To request a donation from Aviva, organizations must prepare a formal proposal to be submitted to their local Aviva branch.

• Baxter International Foundation (International: Deerfield, IL)

  The Baxter International Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Baxter International Inc., helps organizations increase access to healthcare in the United States and around the world. They focus exclusively on increasing access to healthcare - particularly for the disadvantaged and underserved - in and near communities where Baxter employees live and work.

• Bayer (National: Toronto, ON)

  Offers monetary contributions, product donations for humanitarian work, and employee volunteer hours to support initiatives in the areas of science and innovation, education, health promotion, and relief and recovery efforts.

• BC Hydro - Community Investment

  Provides donations, sponsorships and scholarships to support the cultural, social and economic well being of BC's communities.

• BC Hydro Employees' Community Services Fund (HYDRECS)

  HYDRECS is an employee facilitated fund that provides donations and volunteer support to British Columbian-based registered charities in the health and social service sector. HYDRECS contributes approximately $800,000 annually.

• BC Transmission Corporation (BCTC)

  Responsible, sustainable environmental stewardship, high-quality educational opportunities and community development are core parts of BCTC’s business values and commitments. Through its Corporate Outreach Fund, BCTC supports environmental, educational and community development initiatives throughout British Columbia.

• Bell Aliant (Regional: Atlantic Canada, Ontario, Quebec)

  Committed to helping build healthy, vibrant and safe communities across the region. We create partnerships with organizations that help our youngest citizens reach their full potential and provide them with the resources they need to grow into happy, healthy adults.

• Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund

  The Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund advances the Canadian broadcasting system by encouraging and funding the creation of excellent Canadian digital media, promoting partnerships and sustainable businesses in the broadcast and new media sectors, and engaging in research and sharing knowledge.

• Best Buy Canada

  Best Buy supports communities across Canada through various initiatives, including the Best in Class fund which provides technology to schools in need. Local Best Buy stores also have individual giving budgets, with the mandate to donate the funds to local, nonprofit, youth-oriented organizations. They also offer a Community Partner Award program which encourages staff to volunteer time to local nonprofit agencies.

• BMO Financial Group

  BMO welcomes the opportunity to contribute to both large and small organizations across a variety of areas including education, health, arts and culture, civic and community, and sports and athletics. Although support is broadly based, the focus is on assisting organizations and initiatives that encourage and facilitate learning.

• Bravo!FACT (Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent) (National: Toronto, ON)

  Bravo!FACT was established in 1995 by the Bravo! New Style Arts Channel to provide grants for the production of Canadian short films, covering a wide range of arts-related disciplines.

• Calgary Co-op

  Calgary Co-op supports and contributes to local organizations, including providing support to the United Way, the Calgary Inter-Faith Food Bank, sponsoring numerous charitable fundraising activities and initiating work experience programs for the physically and intellectually challenged.

• Canada Post Foundation for Mental Health

  Guided by an independent board, this foundation supports front-line organizations serving patients, consumers, and caregivers while eliminating the stigma of mental illness and raising awareness of how it affects the lives of all Canadians. The foundation receives funds raised by Canada Post and its employees, as well as donations from the public.

• Canada Safeway

  The Canada Safeway Foundation supports initiatives that feed, protect, and nurture children and families. In addition, the Foundation champions three company-wide causes: breast cancer research, prostate cancer research, and disaster relief in time of crisis.

• Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities

  Canadian Tire Jumpstart is a community-based charitable program that helps kids in financial need aged 4 -18 participate in organized sports and recreation such as hockey, dance, soccer and swimming so they can develop important life skills, self esteem and confidence. Canadian Tire's charitable activies also extend into community initiatives, the community crisis program, and the regional disaster recovery program.

• Canfor (Regional: Vancouver, BC)

  Canfor focuses its philanthropic activities in its operating communities in northern British Columbia and Alberta. It offers support in the areas of youth and education, community enhancement, forestry and environment, amateur sports, and health and wellness.

• Cascades (Regional: Kingsey Falls, QC)

  Cascades provides donations and sponsorships to community organizations and organizations working in the fields of education, the environment, health, culture and sports.

• CIBC Community Investment Program

  As one of Canada's largest corporate donors, CIBC is committed to fostering strong, healthy communities. Its support extends to health, education, community, arts and culture, the environment and United Way agencies, with a focus on youth.

• Clarica Life Insurance Company

  Invests approximately one-third of corporate donations in programs that promote the best possible future for Canada's children; promotes effective organ donation programs in hospitals throughout Canada; channels funds to skills enhancement education programs that build the confidence and qualifications of Canada's workforce; and offers a matching gifts program and volunteers program.

• CN Community Investment Program

  CN focuses its funding in four core areas: community safety, transportation education, community response, and United Way/Centraide.

• ConocoPhillips Canada

  ConocoPhillips provides grants and contributions to nonprofits in communities where their employees live and work. They focus mainly on initiatives that benefit education, the environment, and health and safety.

• Co-operators (The)

  As a financial services organization providing insurance and financial service products, we have a responsibility to support the efforts of charitable organizations in Canada to ensure a safer, healthier and happier environment. In reviewing requests for funding, the following four main criteria are considered: to help a significant number of people; to help people help themselves; to have local Co-operators Board and/or staff involvement and/or support; to have broad community support.

• Corus Entertainment

  A Canadian-based media and entertainment company, Corus offers assistance in the areas of public benefit, corporate sponsorship, charitable donations, and local fundraising. Established funds relate primarily to the arts and assisting new and upcoming entertainers and producers. The primary focus of their giving strategy is on improving the lives of Canadian children by supporting programs that support play and development through arts and entertainment and improving the lives of Canadian women and their families by supporting programs and initiatives that offer training, skills development and tools that enhance the economic and personal independence of women.

• Desjardins

  Desjardins provides donations, sponsorships, and scholarships in communities across Canada. Desjardins and its network of caisses and subsidiaries support numerous community endeavours that contribute to economic development, health, the environment, community services, education, arts and culture, as well as sports and leisure. Application forms and guidelines are available on their website.

• Devon Canada (PDF)

  Devon Canada's program, “Investing In People”, is intended to encourage employee retention via creative, healthy and respectful workplaces. The grant program focuses on building organizational, rather than individual, capacity.

• Dofasco

  This company funds registered charities and incorporated not-for-profit organizations that focus on any one of these sectors: arts and culture, civic and community, environment and conservation, education, health care, human and social services, and sports and recreation.

• EnCana (International: Calgary, AB)

  The company's four focus areas include: youth & education; health & wellness; the environment, and community development; with an emphasis on the communities and regions where EnCana has an operating interest.

• Fairmont Hotels and Resorts (International: Toronto, ON)

  The Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Charitable Donations Program aspires to epitomize "Social Partnership," by ensuring that relationships are developed and fostered that address broader social issues, allowing an environment of both increasing involvement and increasing benefits to all concerned.

• FedEx Canada (National: Mississauga, ON)

  FedEx is especially interested in supporting nonprofit organizations that request: 5% or less of a total project budget; contingency grants; or seed monies with the thought that other sources will contribute matching amounts. Charitable shipping is limited to emergency, disaster or life-threatening situations coordinated through a nonprofit organization, disaster relief agency, or agency of the federal, provincial, or local government.

• Finning Canada (National: Edmonton, AB)

  Finning's community investment program provides program funding to registered nonprofit organizations working in the field of education, particularly those dealing with the trades industry, as well as health organizations.

• First Calgary Savings

  First Calgary Savings' Learning Opportunities Donation Program provides funding for staff training and organizational development for nonprofit groups based in Calgary.

• Forzani Group Foundation

  The Forzani Group Foundation was created in 2000 as a separate charitable foundation to take over a number of fund-raising activities historically sponsored and organized by The Forzani Group Ltd. The foundation provides financial support to other registered charities, Canadian amateur athletic associations and other qualified donees whose activities involve the promotion of physical fitness, health and wellness, the prevention and relief of sickness and disability, or the participation and education in sports across Canada.

• General Motors of Canada Limited

  General Motors of Canada Limited believes that providing support in the communities in which it operates and has a significant employee population is of vital importance. Areas of focus include education, the environment, and civic causes.

• George Weston Limited

  George Weston Limited and its subsidiaries are committed to improving the quality of life in their local communities, and believe that business should partner with its employees to make a positive contribution to community organizations. Contributions of both cash and in-kind donations are made to voluntary organizations.

• GlaxoSmithKline Canada

  Committed to improving the quality of human life by enabling people to do more, feel better and live longer. Charitable and community programs support projects that are innovative, sustainable and results-oriented.

• Gore Mutual Insurance Company Foundation (National)

  The foundation's mission is to support the communities served by Gore Mutual Insurance Company by aiding social services, education, health, cultural and environmental activities as may be in the best interest of these communities.

• Green Apple School Program (Ontario and Quebec)

  The Green Apple School Program is a Metro initiative created to encourage conservation and healthy living. They provide grants of $1,000 grants to primary and secondary schools with big ideas for green projects in their communities.

• Honda Canada Foundation

  At the heart of its charitable focus, the Honda Canada Foundation values: education, environment, and engineering. The Foundation uses these three areas as guiding principles in its charitable focus on the belief that a healthy understanding of each area will help both individuals and communities flourish.

• Hewlett Packard (HP) Canada

  HP's philanthropy and education programs focus on developing and supporting programs and partnerships that showcase HP technology while promoting educational opportunity and e-inclusion for people in underserved communities in Canada and around the world.

• Hbc Foundation

  Each year the Hbc Foundation, by working closely with local and national organizations across the country, invests more than $10 million towards three key areas: building healthy families, building strong communities, and inspiring Canadians.

• Hydro One

  Hydro One funds charitable organizations delivering innovative community programs. It focuses its charitable giving on four areas: safety and injury prevention; energy education; United Way campaigns throughout Ontario; and local community causes.

• Imperial Oil Charitable Foundation

  Over half of the foundation's grants are in the field of education. About 30% are made to programs in the fields of community activities, health, social services and civic causes, and about 15% of grants are made to arts and culture activities in communities where Imperial Oil has employees.

• Indigo Love of Reading Fund

  The Indigo Love of Reading Fund provides new books and learning materials to high-needs elementary schools, enhancing the literacy and self-esteem of students. Indigo Books & Music Inc. commits more than $1.5 million annually to schools across the country.

• Industrial Alliance Community Commitment Program

  Industrial Alliance supports various aid and development organizations with direct financial support in the form of donations and sponsorships, giving preference to organizations that aim to improve quality of life and focus on either the health, university education or social service sectors.

• Irving Oil Company - Community Giving Program (Regional: Atlantic Canada)

  A strong supporter of communities throughout Atlantic Canada, Irving is involved in the regions where its employees and customers live and work. The company has identified three key areas of giving: environment, education, and community need.

• Keg Spirit Foundation (National: Richmond, BC)

  The foundation concentrates on supporting charities that focus on the development of children and youth. Letters of interest are accepted throughout the year, and grants are expected to be in the amount of $5,000.

• Jays Care Foundation (Regional: Toronto, ON)

  Part of the Toronto Blue Jays' community initiatives, the foundation funds youth baseball initiatives, as well as charities that offer kids with physical activity, education, and life-skills.

• KidReach

  Microsoft Canada's national donations program that empowers young people by providing access to technology.

• KPMG Foundation

  In addition to providing grants to post-secondary institutions across Canada, the KPMG Foundation supports a wide variety of activities relating to healthcare, children and youth needs, communities, and the environment, although grants to organizations in other fields are made. They also run an employee matching donation program.

• Manulife Financial

  By promoting healthy futures, supporting leaders of tomorrow and by being a partner in the community, globally, Manulife Financial is committed to giving back to the community.

• Maple Lodge Farms Foundation (National: Brampton, ON)

  Funds donated directly by Maple Lodge Farms and other sources are administered by the foundation and used to provide the advancement of education, the community and scientific research.

• Maple Leaf Foods

  Philanthropic giving focuses on three sectors: effective health research and services; community and social services programs; and education, particularly in the area of food nutrition research.

• Mastercard Foundation

  The foundation's mission is to advance effective and innovative programs in microfinance and youth education worldwide. Their goal is to help create opportunities for people to harness their own skills and resources to improve their quality of life.

• Matching Gift Companies

  This site includes more than 500 companies that have matching gift programs in Canada, as well as basic information about the types of gifts that will be matched.

• McKesson Foundation (National)

  McKesson offers regional grants across Canada to organizations whose mission is to assist children and youth in the areas of health and education. This unique program allows McKesson Canada employees who volunteer with local organizations to bring forward projects that they are working on. Additionally, McKesson encourages employees to volunteer by offering a charitable incentive program, and also a matching gift program.

• Metropolis at Metrotown (Local: Burnaby, BC)

  This shopping centre's community fund supports nonprofits in Burnaby, New Westminster, and East Vancouver. Funds are raised via the Metropolis Express, a small ride-along train that runs on the main floor of the centre. Rules for applications, as well as application forms, are available online.

• Microsoft Canada

  Microsoft Canada believes it has a responsibility to help bridge the digital divide. Through its I Can Community Programs, Microsoft assists charities, nonprofits, and community groups across the country with support through financial aid, software, services, and volunteer support by its employees.

• Miller Thomson Foundation

  The purpose of the Miller Thomson Foundation is to encourage and promote the attainment of higher educational goals for individuals who have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement, have made a positive contribution to their school through involvement in extracurricular activities, and have made significant contributions of time and energy to community service programmes.

• Molson Inc.

  Molson gives to the community through a variety of initiatives that help build consumer loyalty and establish the Molson presence in large and small communities across Canada. Funding interests include youth leadership, volunteers, education, and sports.

• The MoneyMinding Foundation

  The purpose of the foundation is to support financial literacy and programs which empower individuals and organizations to reach financial self-sufficiency. The foundation will provide support to individuals or organizations through investments and/or donations and will disburse grants and/or bursaries through an application process.

• Charities Partnership and Outreach Program (National)

  A federal agency offering funding to registered charities and nonprofit organizations serving the charitable sector in Canada. Projects should be designed to improve the capacity of the sector, to develop and deliver sustainable compliance based education programs, increase the capacity of the charitable sector in meeting regulatory compliance requirements in a sustainable fashion, and raise awareness among the charitable sector of regulatory obligations under the Income Tax Act.

• Community Initiatives Program (CIP) (Alberta)

• Department of Canadian Heritage (National)

• Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (National)

  Provides grants to Canadian groups and individuals for the promotion of Canadian culture abroad. Applications are accepted in the areas of performing arts and sound recording, visual, media, and fine arts, literature and publishing, and film and television. Grants are awarded based on the relevance to Canadian foreign policy.

• Human Rights, Citizenship and Multiculturalism Education Fund (HRCMEF) (Alberta)

  The goal of the HRCMEF is to promote fairness and access by facilitating changes that lead to equitable participation in programs, services or organizations. Project funding is available to organizations involved in systemic change initiatives designed to make their programs, services, or organization more accessible to Albertans.

• New Horizons for Seniors (National)

  Through Social Development Canada, this program provides funding for community-based projects across the country that encourage seniors to continue to play an important role in their community. Calls for applications are issued once or twice a year.

• Nunavut Department of Culture, Language, Elders and Youth (Regional)

  Provides funding in the form of grants and contributions to community-based, non-profit organizations and individuals. This funding is set aside to assist those who have an idea or project that contributes to the preservation and/or promotion of Nunavut's culture, heritage, language or amateur sport.

• Status of Women Canada (National)

  Status of Women Canada (SWC) is a federal government organization that promotes the full participation of women in the economic, social and democratic life of Canada. They provide funding for women's programs, with an emphasis on economic security and prosperity, leadership, as well as community programs that encourage women to participate in their communities.

• Youth Justice Renewal Initiative (National)

  Administered by the Department of Justice, funding through this program is directed to organizations and programs addressing youth justice. There are three areas of funding available - the main fund, the anti-drug component, and the guns, drugs, and gangs priority.

• Alterna Savings (National)

  Alterna Savings Community Micro Loan program provides business loans along with a full range of financial services to self-employed individuals who would not otherwise qualify or have access to credit from other financial institutions.

  Maytree Foundation (Greater Toronto Area)

  The objective of this loan program is to develop a new and permanent stream of financial capital for immigrants and Convention refugees.

• Opportunity International Canada (Latin America)

  For 30 years, Opportunity International has been a 'banker to the poor', offering the vital training, support and capital that micro-entrepreneurs need to support themselves.

• Ottawa Community Loan Fund (Ottawa, ON)

  A nonprofit organization providing loans up to $15,000 to Ottawa entrepreneurs who do not qualify for traditional financing. OCLF also partners with the Canadian Youth Business Foundation to provide loans for young entrepreneurs.

• PARO: A Northwestern Ontario Women's Community Loan Fund (Northwestern Ontario)
