RECE, Massey Street/Heart Lake

BridgeWay Family Centre provides free prenatal services, early learning programs and supports to families/caregivers with children 0 - 6 years of age, and we are looking to expand our EarlyON Child and Family Centre staffing teams.

Are you a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) with 5 years or more experience who has a passion to work with young children and their families?   Would you like to work for an innovative, supportive, not for profit agency?  If yes, we are seeking a Registered Early Childhood Educator to work at our Massey Street Public School and Heart Lake (Brampton) EarlyON centres.   Information about these sites can be found on our website: bridgewaycentre.ca  

Massey Street/Heart Lake (Brampton) hours are the following: 

*Asset if candidate speaks Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, Farsi

Mondays                                                                                    (32.5 hours per week)
Massey Street 8:45 am-1:00 pm 
Paid travel time to Heart Lake 1:00 pm-1:15 pm
Heart Lake 1:45 pm-4:30 pm

Tuesdays
Massey Street 9:00 am-1:15 pm

Wednesdays
Massey Street 9:00 am-12:15 pm
Paid Travel Time to Heart Lake 12:15 pm-12:30
Heart Lake 1:00 pm-4:30 pm

Thursdays
Massey Street 9:00 am-12:15 pm
Paid Travel Time to Heart Lake 12:15 pm-12:30
Heart Lake 1:00 pm-4:30 pm

Fridays
Massey Street 8:45 am-1:00 pm
Paid Travel Time to Heart Lake 1:00 pm-1:15 pm
Heart Lake 1:45 pm- 4:15 pm


The job involves:

  • Providing emotional support, information and role modeling for parents/caregivers and their children 0 – 6 years of age while visiting our sites/program
  • Developing and implementing child-directed, quality early learning activities using the ELECT curriculum, the Four Foundations of Learning (How Does Learning Happen) and BridgeWay’s program standardizations for children 0 – 6 years of age and their parents/caregivers
  • Communicating the purpose and goals of activities with parents/caregivers in relation to child development, safe risk taking and the value of child-directed play
  • Recognizing the individuality of each family and demonstrating respect for different parenting or caregiving styles

Qualifications:

  • Degree/diploma in Early Childhood Education or approved equivalency
  • Minimum 5 years experience working with young children
  • Emergency First Aid/CPR B or C
  • Acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check
  • RECE in good standing with the College of ECEs
  • Additional language(s) is an asset
  • Leadership/supervision experience an asset
  • Understanding of a Family Centred Approach is an asset
  •  Ability to speak Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, Farsi is an asset
