ACCESS Community Capital Fund (“ACCESS”) was formed to help promising entrepreneurs with viable business plans gain access to financing not available through other sources. Individual loans are made using a character-based lending decision, where the abilities, skills and commitment of the applicant, in conjunction with the strength of the business plan are key decision criteria. In addition, ACCESS recently began disbursing professional development loans, with a specific focus on helping internationally trained individuals who have credentials that are not recognized in Canada. ACCESS is committed to helping people achieve their potential and collaborates with over 70 community partners. ACCESS conducts information and training sessions across the GTHA, and the training resources provided, such as business coaching, workshops, and financial literacy training, help ensure ACCESS clients have all the resources they need to succeed in their career or their business.
ACCESS is accepting applications for the position of Executive Director in Toronto, Ontario. Reporting to the Board of Directors through the Board Chair, the Executive Director is responsible for managing all aspects of ACCESS’ internal operations and outward facing activities, ensuring the organization remains in compliance with the mission, vision, and the strategic priorities and goals established by the Board. The Executive Director sets the strategic direction of the organization and leads the staff and volunteers in the execution of these goals and objectives.

The ED is a highly-adaptable, creative, logic-driven individual, with a passion for driving change in how Canadians with a poor or limited credit history can access financial support for their professional goals and/or small or emerging businesses in this country. He or she will be decisive and yet inclusive, and will demonstrate a willingness to listen to all stakeholders' voices to achieve the most optimal solution for the challenge at hand. The ED is a visionary and articulate leader who is politically astute and possesses exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, and is able to delegate, set priorities, solve problems, and build lasting relationships inside and outside the organization. The ED has nonprofit acumen, strong financial and human resources management skills, and an unwavering entrepreneurial spirit.

The Executive Director is a full-time permanent position. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors, through the Board Chair, and currently oversees 4 staff members: Manager, Programs and Services; Coordinator, Volunteer Engagement; Communications Associate; and Administrative Associate.
The standard work week is 40 hours and additional evening, weekends, and overtime hours as needed to accommodate activities such as Board meetings and representing the organization at public events.
