On behalf of our client, Delta Community Living Society (DCLS), we are searching for a Residential Services Manager to join their team located in Delta, BC.  DCLS embodies the mission, vision & core values of providing total quality support services and common practices for people with developmental disabilities & their network.  DCLS is driven to advocate and empower all those with whom they work.  Successful team members are flexible, adaptable and proactively look for ways to help each other be more efficient & effective on behalf of the organization.  The work that they do demands that all team members have high levels of abilities to communicate and follow up, even when conflicts appear.

Reporting to the Director of Residential Services, this role is responsible for overseeing and directing the services of this portfolio efficiently & effectively by utilizing the resources of DCLS to ensure the provision of quality services to the individuals whom this portfolio serves.  The organization looks upon this role to ensure that all Staffed Residences, the Community Living Program and Home Sharing contractors are in compliance with Society policy & procedures, Licensing, Accreditation and Industry Best Practice & Standards.  The DCLS mandate is two-fold: Every role is expected to deliver timely and balanced communication to all under the direct supervision of the role as well as to all stakeholders affected by the role.  We do this in a proactive manner that reflects our shared ethics and demonstrates our values of mutual respect & dignity.  Secondly, all roles must adhere to all Society and / or Foundation policies, procedures and business improvement plans.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the performance of direct reports through providing development opportunities, feedback & mentoring and addressing performance issues for each team member
  • Review & implement Home Sharing Contracts and Terms & Conditions
  • Conduct annual Home Sharing Provider Contract reviews to ensure compliance to policy, contracts and terms & conditions (includes Industry and Accreditation Standards)
  • Manage resources and deliver on key reporting requirements for all that Residential Services are accountable for (includes Industry, Licensing and Accreditation Standards)
  • Maintain & monitor expenditures, budgets, staffing schedules and timesheets for all respective programs & services
  • Ensure all complaints, critical incidents and crises are resolved in a manner that respects both stakeholders & the organization

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or other related fields.  A certification in Home Study will be recommended
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership and management role complimented with strong organizational skills
  • Extensive knowledge in performance management systems, contracting principles & practice and licensing
  • Experience with labour relations and the effective interpretation of the Collective Agreement
  • Experience within a non-profit organization and community living services is highly desirable
  • Ability to lead a diverse team by guiding, mentoring and providing the right direction & feedback
  • Ability to develop and implement risk management plans through strategic thinking
  • Ability to implement policies, procedures, best practice and industry standards
  • Ability to multi-task and to have high attention to detail
  • Efficient communicator both written and verbally, with strong negotiation skills
