Residential Facilitators:
Full time Contract (shift rotations include days, afternoons and weekends) for Etobicoke and Scarborough locations

Community Head Injury Resource Services (CHIRS) is an accredited leader in the provision of long-term community-based support services for adults with acquired brain injury.


  • Ensure a home-like environment in which residents are supported in their cooperative living arrangement
  • Provide teaching, training and support in accordance with the individuals' service plans in order to ensure opportunities for improved quality of life
  • Facilitate participation and promote self sufficiency and interdependence in the home and community
  • Report on individuals' accomplishments, progress, skills and ongoing needs through quarterly reports
  • Provide case management for designated individuals. Compose and implement service and support plans in conjunction with other team members as required
  • Assess individuals' skills, abilities, areas of need and degree of support required
  • Promote the health, safety and well-being of individuals


  • Degree or Diploma in Social Services and/or related fields (Behavior Science, Psychology and Health Sciences) and a minimum of 3 years work experience in a residential setting are a must.
  • Experience working with brain injury and/or mental health population an asset
  • Ability to work independently, and as an effective member of a team
  • Ability to develop supportive client relationships based on respect
  • Strong ability to counsel and provide support to clients on various matters such as daily living activities or setting objectives for personal and professional development
  • Flexibility and adaptability regarding schedules are necessary
  • Solid communication and organizational skills
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification required.
  • Use of a vehicle, a valid driver's license (G class) and ability to meet agency insurance requirement  is a must.
