Crohn’s and Colitis Canada (CCC) is seeking an experienced and collaborative leader, with demonstrated success in community engagement and fundraising to be our National Director, Community Engagement. Passionate about our cause, the ideal candidate understands the importance of grassroots engagement and community outreach in revenue generation, and is able to build genuine relationships with prospects, donors, staff and volunteers.
Based in our National Office in Toronto, and reporting to the President and CEO, the National Director, Community Engagement will lead a team of 25 staff through six (6) direct reports. The National Director will provide strategic leadership in the planning and execution of community-based strategy for fundraising and volunteer activation. This position is responsible for our Regional teams as well as our Signature Events and Volunteer Engagement teams.
The National Director, Community Engagement will be a consummate relationship builder who balances planning and strategy development with their keen desire to activate people and communities to engage with our cause. The successful candidate will have a mastery of the mechanics of fund development and a proven track record of mobilizing volunteers and staff to be champions of a cause.
Critical to this position are superior communication and relationship management skills with donors and a genuine interest for interacting with people. A driven and nimble change manager, the new incumbent will thrive in ambiguity and will be a forward thinking, motivated, and inventive leader who fosters a culture of philanthropy and shares this passion with others.
Resourceful and creative, the ideal candidate will seek and seize opportunities to develop new and existing possibilities for major gift support and partnerships. The Director will focus on engaging communities in Crohn’s and Colitis Canada efforts that thoughtfully align donor and volunteer opportunities with the priorities of our organization.
