Summary of Position

We are currently seeking a Development Assistant to bring great organizational skills to our team. The Development Assistant will ensure impeccable record keeping and document generation skills to support fundraising best practices at Hope Air.

Location: Toronto (close to Yonge & Davisville)

Start Date: ASAP – posting open until the role is filled. Interviews will be conducted as applications are received.

Position Description:

The Development Assistant will:

  • Process donations and generate CRA compliant charitable tax receipts and grant payment invoices.
  • Enter and maintain accurate records in Salesforce.
  • Scan, copy, and file donation documents.
  • Reconcile account records (QuickBooks) and donation records (Salesforce).
  • Create donation reports and export and import data files.
  • Draft and mail donor correspondence for others signature as required.
  • Support the team in preparing update reports of program results and performance.
  • Answer phone inquiries and perform reception duties in the office.
  • Assist with troubleshooting technical challenges.
  • Perform general office administration duties, including office supply inventory, equipment and office maintenance (liaising with vendors).
  • Other projects/duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Excellent ability to create, organize and maintain effective and efficient record keeping systems.
  • Detail oriented.
  • High numerical literacy.
  • Solid written communication skills.
  • Keen interest in technology.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Professional and mature communication style.
  • Able to work independently and reliably, take initiative, troubleshoot, and be solution-oriented.
  • Exceptional computer skills with proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and Salesforce.
  • Administrative, accounting, or business education and experience preferred.
