Corporate Relations Officer (Permanent, Full-Time)

Eva’s Initiatives for Homeless Youth provides safe shelter, supportive services, and long-term solutions to youth homelessness. We believe all young people deserve safe, affordable housing, great support, and access to the resources to reach their full potential.

Eva’s Initiatives is an innovative organization that works locally and nationally to prevent, reduce and end youth homelessness. Eva’s Initiatives operates three specialized shelter facilities, Eva’s Place, Eva’s Satellite and Eva’s Phoenix. 

The Corporate Relations Officer’s goal is to develop and strengthen corporate partnerships resulting in increased and sustained financial support from companies through a combination of financial, in-kind donations, and sponsorships. The Corporate Relations Officer is located at Eva’s Administrative Office and reports directly to the Director of Development.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generates corporate revenue including financial and in-kind donations, sponsorships, and match funds.
  • Identifies, researches, qualifies new corporate prospects, managing a pipeline of up to 150 to 200 corporate accounts.
  • Aids the Director of Development and Executive Director in strategic relationship management, including prospect briefings and key meeting invitations.
  • Develops compelling sponsorship packages and proposals with a suite of recognition opportunities and benefits.
  • Works closely with the Grants Manager to identify, develop and solicit corporate grant opportunities, as well as the stewardship of awarded corporate grants.
  • Uses data-driven evidence, industry trends, and best practices in corporate fundraising and sponsorship to develop an annual business plan for the corporate relations portfolio.
  • Collaborates with key staff across the organization to leverage and support new and existing corporate relationships.
  • Manages proper documentation of key records including gift and/or sponsorship agreements, entitlements, scope of activities, etc.
  • Generates accurate lists for communication activities with sponsors in collaboration with the Coordinator, Development Services.
  • Generates relevant reports using the donor database to update the development team and Executive Director on pipeline status, forecast and raised dollars.
  • Performs other duties and assigned tasks as required.


  • Commitment to putting youth at the centre and working toward social justice
  • Understanding of youth engagement and respectful approaches to working with young people of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and identities
  • An undergraduate degree, relevant diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • At least two years of experience in corporate fundraising, sales/marketing or business development.
  • Experience navigating corporate relationships to identify and establish relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong persuasive communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Entrepreneurial – willing to try new approaches and think beyond the traditional corporate partnerships model.
  • Comfortable engaging a wide audience, including C-suite executives, volunteers, staff in various functions/roles across the organization and community members at large.
  • Strong understanding of CSR models, Creating Shared Value and corporate philanthropy.
  • Excellent time management skills guided by a sense of urgency.
  • Very detail oriented with a good understanding of importance of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated project management and teamwork skills.
  • Diplomatic, tactful and strategic.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Strong database and financial analysis skills.
