In this position you will provide individual, family and group counselling to children, youth and their families using strength and evidence based treatment modalities.

You will liaise with families, collaterals and other service providers to ensure optimum delivery of services and collaborative working relationships.  You will be responsible to ensure timely and quality clinical recordings, reports, correspondence and program statistics.  In addition you will participate as required in program development activities, committees, task forces and contribute to the overall achievement of Rapport Youth & Family Services vision for client services.

In addition to the above competencies, as the successful candidate you will:

  • Be knowledgeable in a variety of evidence-informed treatment modalities
  • Demonstrated counselling skills including assessment, interviewing, goal setting and short term interventions
  • Provide skilled assessment and treatment services to children, youth and their families
  • Liaise and collaborate with other professionals and community based resources to ensure appropriate and effective service delivery
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills, time management skills and very sound comprehension of boundaries.
  • Have excellent interpersonal  and conflict resolution skills
  • Commitment to an anti-oppressive practice framework
  • Computer literacy
  • Hold a Master's degree in psychology, counselling, social work, or a related field, with three years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Be a member in good standing with the designated college and licensed to carry out the duties of a clinical psychotherapist in the Province of Ontario.
  • Have a valid Ontario Driver's License, use of a reliable vehicle and be able to work flexible hours
