Reporting to the Communications & Events Manager, the Marketing Coordinator is responsible for executing Vantage Point’s integrated marketing strategy, external communications, and BOSS conference. As a key member of the Marketing & Community Engagement team, the Coordinator plays an integral role in communicating Vantage Point’s programming to BC’s not-for-profit sector and should be able to create compelling, brand-aligned web copy, email campaigns, and social media content.


Marketing & Communications

  • Assist in the development of the media relations strategy
  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate the production and delivery of all marketing materials
  • Maintain and improve our website, including the creation of web pages, website conversion points, and website usability and functionality
  • Generate story ideas and content for the newsletter, Vantage Point blog, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook
  • Update and write content for Vantage Point’s website and associated online properties; liaise with internal & external content providers
  • Proofread, vet, and review all marketing materials
  • Track and report analytics on website, blog, social media, and email communications
  • Write, plan, and coordinate social media postings
  • Schedule and prepare content for targeted e-mail marketing campaigns, fundraising emails, and organizational communications
  • Assist with sourcing and managing suppliers for the preparation and/or production of marketing materials
  • In collaboration with the Communications & Events Manager, oversee the work of team members to ensure they are adhering to Vantage Point’s brand standards, words to watch, and style guide
  • Perform other related duties as required

Event Support

  • Marketing lead for BOSS, Vantage Point’s leadership conference
  • Create, manage, and implement the BOSS marketing strategy
  • Create & Implement all marketing materials and event collateral for BOSS
  • Support the Communications & Events Manager with BOSS sponsorship solicitation, commitment, and fulfillment

Other duties

  • Contribute to the maintenance of Vantage Point’s customer database
  • Provide recording and editing support for the From Our Vantage Point podcast and eLearning modules, as required
  • All team members provide occasional support with customer service duties including answering phones, emails, and assisting to in-person clients
  • Create digital and print materials including, social media graphics, collateral, the annual report, conference program.


To excel in the Marketing and Communications Coordinator role, you will have:

  • Two-years marketing and/or communications experience; experience in digital and content marketing considered an asset
  • Post-secondary education and/or experience in a related field
  • Strong foundation in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator)
  • An understanding the digital landscape; experience with content management systems (Drupal), customer relationship management systems (Salesforce), email marketing, Google Analytics, and social media
  • Exceptional writing and copy-editing skills and can communicate concisely and effectively
  • Time management skills with strong ability to determine and manage priorities
  • A highly collaborative work ethic
  • Willingness and passion to learn new skills quickly
  • Ability to implement constructive feedback and willingness to learn and grow in the role
  • Committed to the success of the not-for-profit sector

This is a full-time position based on an annual salary of $38k - $42k depending on experience and capacity. It is temporary 6-month position going from approximately June 2019 – December 2019. If the position becomes a permanent one, the individual will be eligible for Vantage Point’s extended benefits and generous pension plan without a waiting period after the first 3 months in the role.
