Family Support Outreach Worker
For Healthy Families Program at The Stop
About The Stop:
The Stop began over 35 years ago as one of North America’s first food banks and it has grown into a vibrant community food centre using food as a tool to connect with community in addressing poverty, social isolation and health in one of Toronto’s lowest-income neighbourhoods. The Stop’s mission is to increase access to healthy food in a manner that maintains dignity, builds community and address inequality and social justice.
Reporting to the Team Lead of The Healthy Families Program, the Family Support Outreach Worker’s role is to enhance the health of women, infants and children through supportive programs and home visits. We seek a candidate who has a strong understanding of the community and challenges faced by new parents and their families, and a desire to support them in fostering change in their lives and community.
