We are looking for a master multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and can easily adapt to a changing work environment . Candidates should be able to assist office staff and all visitors to the organization by handling office tasks, providing polite and professional assistance via phone, mail, and e-mail,  and generally being a helpful and positive presence in the workplace. The position of Administrative Support Staff is 35 hours per week.

To be successful as an Administrative Support Staff, candidates should be professional, polite, and attentive while also being accurate. They should always be prepared and responsive, willing to meet each challenge directly and be able to easily refocus on tasks upon direction . Administrative Support Staff must be comfortable with computers, general office tasks, and excel at both verbal and written communication. Most importantly, Administrative Support Staff should have a genuine desire to meet the needs of others.

Administrative Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Handling office tasks, such as filing, generating reports and presentations, setting up for meetings, and reordering supplies.
  • Using computers to generate reports, transcribe minutes from meetings, database entry,  create presentations.
  • Greet and assist visitors.
  • Assists in processing reports, correspondence, and record keeping
  • Maintain polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail, and mail.
  • Anticipate the needs of others in order to ensure their seamless and positive experience.
  • Performs other related duties, as required.
  • Minimum Grade 12 education plus the completion of recognized programs/courses in business administration and/or office administration,
  • Minimum two years office experience
  • Or, the equivalent combination of education and experience.,
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Software
  • Preference given to experience working for a Union or non-profit organization
