Customer Relationship Manager

Job Mission and Purpose

This is an intermediate role that will prospect, engage, grow and retain CanGift’s trade Market’s retail attendee base. This Customer Relationship Manager is responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong customer service relationships driving retail establishments to attend CanGift Markets.

You will use your expertise to

  • Assist retail attendees to register and attend bi-annually for the Alberta Gift + Home Market and the Toronto Gift + Home Market that take place in January/February and in August each year.
  • Address client concerns and ensure the resolution of issues in a timely manner, with follow-up when necessary.
  • Prospect and recruit new retail attendees to the CanGift Markets reaching monthly targets.
  • Provide insight and raise awareness to areas of opportunity within our business processes to reach strategic goals.
  • Collaborate, provide support and share knowledge with various internal departments to improve the customer experience, enhance, and grow departmental development.
  • Manage onsite show registration activities.

The incumbent will

  • Be a self starter, a multitasker, with strong time management skills who will be responsible for leading, organizing and managing the retail attendee base as well as be responsible for the growth of retail attendance to the Markets.
  • Have completed college or university with a minimum of three to five years in retail sales.
  • Have had a previous customer-facing, service-oriented position focused on customer relationship management.
  • Present a proven record of delivering strategic and out-of-the-box ideas to advance goals.
  • Be an organized, energetic professional with the attitude and drive to succeed.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Have a proven record in building and scaling operational processes, the ability to meet and exceed deadlines.
  • Have hands-on proficient experience with databases and possess exceptional verbal, written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work through stressful situations effectively, handle a high volume of work in a short period of time, and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Work with marketing department to maximize retail promotional opportunities that will assist in achieving registrational goals.
  • Will assist with on site quality training of hired third party staff with emphasis on quality customer service.

Other Requirements

  • Strong computer proficiency and navigational skills.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with heavy phone volume.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Compliance with organization’s rules and policies.
  • Ability to travel on a limited basis
  • Bilingual in English and French (verbal and written) a definite asset.
