Finance Analyst, Systems

Description

The Finance Analyst, Systems is responsible for taking a collaborative role within the Systems team and working closely with the procurement/contracting team and program staff. This position will provide guidance and recommendations on subjects related to financial systems and procedures. This role will support process improvement activities, the development of techniques to increase organizational efficiency, improve process documentation and process flows.

Requirements

Systems and Process Analysis

  • Help with administration of CDB and Contracts Lifecycle Management (CLM).
  • Serve as a resource person to program staff providing guidance and recommendations, on subjects related to financial and contracting policies and procedures.
  • Document Systems and Processes (support documents, guidance documents, help files, videos, FAQs, etc.).
  • Understand business requirements and translate them into system requirements that can be passed on to application developers.
  • Provide recommendations as necessary in regard to financial systems, process flows and process documentation improvements to improve efficiency and accuracy of processes and document flow.

Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM)

  • Provide guidance and system support to program and contracting staff by resolving any issues.
  • Design, develop, and test system changes and enhancements.
  • Maintain various system tables.
  • Respond to issues related to the CLM and open any tickets as needed.
  • Identify and develop system improvements for future phases.
  • Monitor quality of contract data input.

Data and Reporting Analysis

  • Taking a proactive approach to identify target budget discrepancies.
  • Identify potential gaps in reports as needed by program staff.
  • Identify additional information required on reports.
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting for management using advanced Excel skills.
  • Design and develop reports to analyze data from different sources to help improve
    organizational efficiency.

  • Any other duties as required from time to time.

Other Specific Skill Requirements

  • Advanced skills in Excel.
  • Good judgment in analyzing data and information, and adapting procedures to accommodate new or unusual situations.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated client service orientation and abilities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and develop harmonious working relationships with professionals from a variety of disciplines.
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Familiar with databases.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
  • Proven time management skills and ability to handle multiple deadlines.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position does not have any supervisory function.

Education/Professional Designations/Experience

  • Bachelor’s University degree in accounting, finance or business or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of one year experience in a business environment.

Language Skills

  • Fluency in English (Reading, Writing & Oratory Skills) is a prerequisite.
