Working Women Community Centre is a non-profit community based immigrant and refugee women's organization providing a variety of programs and services across the City of Toronto. We believe that women are given an opportunities to realize their full potential, we are all better for it .

At this point in our long history we recognize we need to expand our funding sources and embrace fundraising as part of our organizational culture. WWCC commissioned a Consultant do develop a comprehensive fundraising plan and we are looking for a fundraiser lead to implement the plan in collaboration with staff and board members.

Primary accountability as the fundraising lead, you will bring our entrepreneurial spirit to WWCC to help us build a sustainable fundraising and donor development program. 

Primary Accountability:

  • Build upon existing donor relationships and for new donor relationships on an ongoing basis
  • Develop a roadmap and plan to implement our fundraising strategy
  • Lead the selection and implementation of a fundraising database that will allow us to identify and track donors
  • Research potential donors ( prospect research) to gain insight into needs, beliefs and donation habits to understand how to position our work
  • Coordinate donor cultivation events with a focus on Major Gifts
  • Set financial targets for fundraising activities and create strategies to reach them
  • Raise funds to support the work of WWCC or particular programs
  • Collaborate with senior management and the Board of Directors to develop a fundraising culture to achieve the centre's goals
  • Take ownership for executing our fundraising initiatives and serve as a resource and coach for staff and Board as we all earn to embrace a fundraising mindset


  • You've built or led a fundraising and donor development program
  • You are CFRE qualified or you've completed another fundraising program
  • Your are comfortable working with data and you understand how to use a fundraising database to create and run queries, reports etc.
  • You have experience identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding Major Gifts
  • You have strong communication skills and are a natural collaborator
  • You are passionate about our mission and empowering women
