Financial Consultant

LDATD is looking for an experienced Part-Time Financial Accountant/Bookkeeping consultant.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Experience with AR/AP, budget administrations, claims processing,
  • Maintain chart of accounts
  • Prepare bank, PayPal, POS reconciliations
  • Prepare payroll, calculate and remit source deductions
  • Calculate and submit tax remittance forms such as HST, WSIB and EHT
  • Prepare sales invoicing, purchase order requisitions and liaise with vendors as required
  • Manage collection of accounts receivables and  process all accounts payable
  • Manage financial files and record keeping as per financial policies
  • Produce monthly financial statements and review with SMT and senior staff
  • Ensure that accounting policies, internal controls and compliances are functioning correctly
  • Prepares for financial audit and coordinate the audit process for both program and agency  audits
  • Prepare monthly key performance indicator reports  such as cash flow projection, program budget performance against targets
  • Recommends or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to agency operations
  • Ensure all financial reporting, claims and government filling deadlines are met

Qualifications & Technical Skills:

  • CPA, CGA, CMA (or in the process of attaining designations)
  • Experience working with Not for profit budgets, funding agreements and claims
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks (knowledge of other accounting software would be an asset)
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Minimum 5 years bookkeeping/accounting experience
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of full cycle accounting and budgeting/forecasting
  • Team player, self-starter able to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Solid judgement and problem solving skills
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive, can-do attitude
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English
  • Drivers license and access to a vehicle will be considered an asset
