We are looking for a facilities professional who thrives in a dynamic environment with students, alumni and faculty members and who can maximize the use and oversee the upkeep of a recreational and social facility. The MSAC Operations & Events Manager is a key role at the UBC Medical Student and Alumni Centre (MSAC), located near VGH. Frequented by over 17,000 people every year, the MSAC in Vancouver is a hub for UBC medical students, residents, and alumni, with a purpose of providing a centrally located social and recreational space.
The position manages the booking of 800+ events and 200 video conferences annually at the three MSACs across the province (Prince George, Victoria, and Vancouver) and is an important point of contact for UBC internal and external partners, requiring a high degree of maturity, judgment and professionalism is dealing with wide range of stakeholders. Occasional evening & weekend work required at events throughout the year. The position also oversees all the activities to maintain the upkeep of the building and its grounds.
As a member of the Faculty of Medicine Development and Alumni Engagement team, the MSAC Operations & Services Manager, requires thorough knowledge of university procedures and policies, computer technology, organizational skills, office routines, and the ability to work independently and with good judgment.
