The Fields-CQAM Partnership and Development Officer will lead our communication, marketing, business development, government reporting and peer review processes. Working with the Fields-CQAM Director and Team Leader, the Partnership and Development Officer will:
 
i. Communication and Marketing
  • develop and design our communications and marketing materials;
  • update, maintain and create new content for the Fields-CQAM website;
  • oversee and implement a new social media strategy; and
  • prepare any necessary letters, press releases, presentations and reports;
 
ii. Development
  • develop and implement - in collaboration with the Director and Team Leader - a Fields-CQAM business development strategy; and
  • explore potential new funding and partnership opportunities;
 
iii. Government Reporting
  • define - together with our present funders and the Fields-CQAM Advisory Board - relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); and
  • prepare and finalize Fields-CQAM government reports;
 
iv. Peer Review Processes
  • guarantee adherence of the Fields-CQAM Innovation Review Committee to appropriate peer review procedures;
  • provide proper documentation of these procedures to the Advisory Board; and
  • support as secretary meetings of both the Innovation Review Committee and Advisory Board.
 
Ideal candidates will possess:
  • an undergraduate or master's degree in a relevant field;
  • at least two to three years of experience in communications, marketing, government reporting or other business or non-profit development activities;
  • working knowledge of Canada's federal and provincial scientific funding agencies;
  • superb oral and written communication skills, including the ability to distill high-level scientific research into concise and engaging content;
  • advanced knowledge of and experience using the Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro; and
  • the ability to work under occasional pressure and to complete tasks on short and competing deadlines.
