St. Paul’s Foundation is currently seeking a Development Officer to join the Major Gifts team. The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 3 years previous experience working in a fundraising organization, with a proven track record of fundraising success, ideally in a hospital setting.
The Major Gift Officer is responsible for sustaining and growing the Major Gift Program in support of Providence Health Care’s fundraising priorities, including new St. Paul’s and Greatest Needs. This role is accountable, as a fundraising member of the Major Giving team, for effective execution of a range of fundraising activities including relationship building, cultivation and solicitation, events and proposal writing.
The role is to cultivate meaningful relationships leading to gifts from donors with capacity to make annual donation at the $10k+ level, as well as oversee stewardship for past major donors. The Officer has a keen understanding of healthcare issues important to Providence Health Care and is able to convey how donors’ generosity makes a positive impact. The candidate will also play a key role in relationship building within Providence Health Care’s physician, research centres and leadership team. The incumbent is accountable for the effective development, implementation and execution of strategic Major Gift fundraising plans managing a donor portfolio of 75-100 constituents.
