The Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) represents 14,500 physiotherapists, physiotherapist assistants and physiotherapist students across Canada. In partnership with provincial and territorial branches and practice divisions, CPA enables members to learn, share knowledge and enhance practice. CPA provides resources, education, ideas and advocacy to enable our professional community to better serve Canadians.

Under the direction of the Marketing & Business Development Manager, the Business Development Representative develops key relationships with advertisers, corporate partners and promotes commercial activities that will broaden CPA’s revenue base and increase the profile of physiotherapy in the community.

The Canadian Physiotherapy Association has a significant portfolio of customers that invest in sponsorship and advertisement and the Business Development Representative will be responsible for maintaining these relationships while establishing new ones.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain current relationships with corporate partners, advertisers, sponsors, and exhibitors;
  • Establish new relationships through outbound prospecting;
  • Develop quotes and proposals for clients;
  • Increase revenue through sourcing corporate partnerships, commercial activities, and affinity relationships;
  • Consistently achieve quarterly and annual sales quota;
  • Advise on sponsorship packages and other sales material;
  • Promote sponsorships and exhibit booths for events;
  • Promote advertising space;
  • Promote sponsored webinars;
  • Promote other sponsorships as available;
  • Coordinate ad placements with the Communications department; and,
  • Assist Marketing & Business Development Manager on an as needed basis.

 Essential Skills/Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary degree or diploma in a related field;
  • 2-4 years of experience in Business Development;
  • Bilingual (English and French) essential;
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint;
  • Proven ability to achieve/exceed sales quotas;
  • Detail-oriented;
  • Tact, diplomacy, discretion, maturity of judgement and professionalism;
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills;
  • Strong negotiation skills;
  • Cold-calling experience; and,
  • Experience in the health care sector preferred.
