Established in 1953, the Church of St. Stephen, Downsview’s Mission is “To worship God creating a caring Christian community through growth and celebration, using our gifts and talents to reach out in love to others.” We are currently seeking an experienced Chef to work in our Saints Café lunch program on a part-time basis (up to 15 hours per week).
The Saints Café is a community outreach program operated by the Church, and managed by a dedicated group of coordinators and volunteers. Hot, healthy, and nutritional meals are prepared and served on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The café currently serves an average of 32 meals per day.
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Saints Café Chef is responsible to the Incumbent and the Churchwardens for ensuring that the culinary requirements of the café menu are met on time and that the appearance and cleanliness of the kitchen is maintained to the highest standards. All activities associated with this position must be achieved in a manner consistent with the Parish Mission Statement, Goals and Objectives. All diocesan and parish policies and practices must be known and adhered to; particularly, the Diocese of Toronto’s Sexual Misconduct and Screening Policies.
