Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) Program Staff

Lambton Kingsway Before & After School Program is currently recruiting Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECE) for opportunities to work mornings and afternoons (split shift: 7:30am-9:00am- 2:30pm-6:00pm) with kindergarten-school age children during the school year and full days in the summer.  The program is located in a progressive Junior Middle School in the Royal York & Dundas area.

What you’re great at….

  • Our ideal candidate will be able to create and maintain a safe, positive and enriching environment for the children.
  • Must have strong knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act.
  • We are looking for candidates who have strong programming skills following the ELECT Curriculum to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate program.
  • The successful candidate will be reliable, self-motivated and be a team player. Able to work with and maintain a relationship with other co-workers, children, families, students and other educators.

What you will bring…

  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • Experience working in a childcare centre and working within a team.
  • Knowledge of child development.
  • Awareness of allergies and health and safety practices in licensed childcare centres.
  • Dependable and flexible to the needs of the children, educators and the program overall.
  • Problem Solving, Multi-tasking and Time Management skills.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Current Standard First Aid (Level C) certification.
  • Before & After School Program specific experience considered an asset.
