The Public Policy Forum is a 33-year-old non-profit organization that works with all levels of government and the public service, the private sector, labour, post-secondary institutions, NGOs and Indigenous groups to improve policy outcomes for Canadians. As a non-partisan, member-based organization, we work from “inclusion to conclusion," by convening discussions of emerging and established thinkers, doers and deciders on fundamental policy issues and by identifying fresh policy options and paths forward. The Public Policy Forum researches and convenes around topical public policy challenges and celebrates great policy contributions at our testimonial dinners. Role description:

The Public Policy Forum is seeking a Partnership Liaison to contribute to all facets of PPF’s partnership initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in growing an engaged community of supporters through a compelling membership program. They will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, contact and list management within PPF’s relationship management platform. They will be exposed to and support a diverse and expanding offering of partnership and fundraising strategies, including major gifts, annual giving campaigns, grants and government relations, and signature event and conference sponsorships.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Partnerships, work closely with all members of the Partnership and Membership team, and further collaborate with colleagues across all PPF departments.

  • Coordinate the identification and engagement of prospective new members;
  • Support the cultivation, solicitation and retention of members, sponsors, donors and grants through prospect identification and research as requested;
  • Lead day-to-day relationships with a select pool of members, partners and sponsors;
  • Support integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution that drive awareness and ticket sales of PPF events and PPF learning programs;
  • Be an informed member of the PPF Partnership team, make creative connections between people, projects and programs to increase revenues and donor/sponsor/funder engagement;
  • Support the development of sponsorship opportunities for PPF event and conference partners;
  • Develop strong understanding of partner business objectives and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide strategic opportunities delivering on those objectives;
  • Work within a team environment building strong working relationships supporting colleagues on various programs and department initiatives;
  • Maintain accurate records, input fundraising-related activity, generate reports, manage contacts and contact lists using PPF’s platforms;


Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum two years of relevant experience;
  • A post-secondary degree, or an acceptable combination of work experience and education;
  • Strong marketing, communications and customer service orientation;
  • Practical experience cultivating, soliciting, closing and stewarding donations and/or memberships of $10,000 and above;
  • Superior English language writing and editing skills and superior attention to detail;
  • The ability to effectively juggle competing demands and priorities;
  • The ability to research and analyze timely and relevant information from a variety of sources and to recommend usage for member stewardship, outreach and partnership development purposes;
  • The ability to work flexible hours and overtime, on an as-required basis;
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • Bilingualism, although not mandatory, is an asset
