Full-time Position (40 hours per week)
Peel Children's Centre is an accredited children’s mental health centre that provides a continuum of high quality mental health services for children, youth and their families who are experiencing or may experience serious emotional difficulties. Our services are provided in a dynamic, client-centred environment that values flexibility, accessibility and responsiveness.
Our Day Treatment Program provides a safe, accepting, supportive classroom environment for children experiencing serious emotional, behavioural, or relationship difficulties in their school, and often their home and community.
The Day Treatment Counsellor is a member of a multidisciplinary team and has prime responsibility to counsel, teach, support and advise clients in a day treatment setting. Under the direction of the Day Treatment Supervisor, the counsellor must ensure, to the extent possible, the safety and well-being of clients in a day treatment setting. This includes the development and implementation of the day treatment component of treatment plans for each client in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team including school professionals involved.
Duties include clinical reporting as well as an ability to ensure agency policies and procedures are understood and carried out, while working within a school setting with its own set of expectations and procedures.
Annual salary range - $50,570 to $59,196 (5 step range)
This is a full time position with a generous total rewards package of 4 weeks’ vacation in the first year, personal leave, group life/LTD/health/dental benefits that are fully employer paid and a defined contribution pension plan.
