Home for Good Programs

(Part-Time Contract)

The Canadian Mental Health Association/Toronto Branch is a non-profit community based mental health agency providing a wide range of services across Toronto. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Worker for the Home for Good Programs.

Reporting to the Manager, the Maintenance Worker will provide residential and administrative support to the Home for Good teams that deliver enhanced service intensity and specialized supports to individuals living independently in the community and in CMHA high support 24 hour Transitional program. The Maintenance Worker will support the ongoing residential and administrative needs of the Home for Good Programs. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing residential duties such as menu planning, food prep/cooking, ordering and purchasing supplies, cleaning, etc.
  • Performing of site maintenance duties.
  • Maintaining trusting, respectful and collaborative working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Being proactive, taking initiative and identifying/implementing quality improvement opportunities.
  • Providing some administrative support to team members and Program Manager as required.
  • Providing administration support with data collection and entry.
  • Creating and maintaining program budgets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the Program maintenance and administration.


  • Minimum of post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of community mental health and experience working in settings that support individuals with complex mental health and substance use issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive learning culture and facilitate the achievement of evidence based quality care with optimal outcomes.
  • Demonstrated budgeting and financial management skills.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication, coaching and team building skills that facilitate positive interactions among all members of the team.
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety, best practice and innovation in service delivery.

Work Location: 811-813 Broadview Avenue

Work Hours: TBD (Weekdays & Weekends)

Salary: $18.00 per hour + 4% Vacation
