YWCA Cambridge is currently seeking an innovative, self-starter to fill the position of

 

Director of Marketing and Communications

(full-time, contract position)

 

The successful candidate will have responsibilities in the following areas:

  • Develop a bi-annual, evidence-based marketing and communications plan across all YWCA programs, services and events.
  • Monitor and evaluate the efficacy of marketing strategies.
  • Complete market research, as required, to help create evidence-based marketing plans.
  • Ensure a consistent to marketing and communications across a number of competing priorities and/or initiatives.
  • Create timelines, design and strategies for various print communications.
  • Maintain website – write copy, design and create forms, media/module management.
  • Research and write blog posts.
  • Keep up to date on current and emergent best practices of non-profit media relations.
  • Curate and research meaningful and relevant social media content.
  • In collaboration with staff, provide marketing support to ensure consistency of brand across multiple touch points within the agency.
  • Maintain YWCA Canada brand standards in all communications.
  • Develop an ecommerce platform for YWCA Cambridge’s social enterprise, the Women’s International Gift & Gallery (WIGG).
  • Contribute to a holistic work environment and embody the mission and values of a feminist, anti-oppressive social justice agency.

 

Your skills will include:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of marketing and communications acquired through the attainment of an undergraduate degree in a related field and a minimum of two years’ experience in a non-profit organization.
  • Creativity on a limited budget.
  • Proven understanding of the issues that impact women and girls and the ability to speak to those issues.
  • Ability to handle multi-tasking in an efficient manner.
  • Research skills.
  • Comfortable working with the media.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to represent the YWCA on a variety of community committees.
  • Knowledge of the Cambridge & North Dumfries community.
  • Public relations skills in order to build and maintain relationships in the community.
  • Human relations skills in order to work with volunteers, the general public and other staff members.
