Position Description:                                                  

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Partnerships this full-time position is responsible for revenue generation through 3rd party events hosted by corporate partners and community groups and an annual giving program for individual support. The Events & Annual Giving Officer must be an exceptional salesperson, project manager, relationship manager, and ambassador, have event coordination experience, outstanding customer service skills, and be committed to team, culture and fund development. The Events & Annual Giving Officer is responsible for the following core duties:

  • Build upon existing relationships and help cultivate emerging partnerships to “take them to the next level.”
  • Develop strategies and seek out opportunities that provide value and additional revenue and engagement with our corporate and community partners.
  • Research and identify new 3rd party event prospects and make actionable plans for solicitation
  • Solicit community interest and follow it up with a well-crafted, letter of interest and/or proposal to secure 3rd party event support, and then follow up to secure a commitment
  • Build strong relationships with 3rd party event supporters
  • Coordinate all aspects of 3rd party fundraising events including logistics, administration, staff and volunteer engagement
  • Maintain documentation on deliverables and communication
  • Solicit in-kind donations and steward relationships with in-kind donors
  • Provide support for 3rd party fundraisers to create, navigate, and optimize Classy campaigns for events, peer to peer, and crowdfunding initiatives
  • Seek new revenue generation such as the 3rd party sale of Adopt-a-Flight certificates and Hope Air bears
  • Grow the individual giving program by ensuring that individual donors are thanked, stewarded and invited to renew their support for Hope Air
  • Build an annual program for individual donors with a focus on conversion to monthly support

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relationship building skills and a proven track record of developing and growing community engagement with companies, community groups, and volunteers that support through 3rd party event fundraising
  • Bachelors’ degree or diploma in event coordination, communications, sales, marketing, public relations, fundraising or equivalent from a college or university, and/or 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven coordination of successful fundraising events and/or individual giving programs that meet/exceed revenue targets, within the charitable sector
  • Proven experience in project management (with responsibilities, deadlines, and benchmarks)
  • Proven organizational and time management skills to determine work priorities and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be organized, dependable, and able to meet deadlines by effectively prioritizing workload, creating and following critical paths, managing multiple projects and work assignments
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Superior client service and team building skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing and presentation
  • Superior on-site logistics management; accuracy and attention to detail is critical
  • Basic accounting and numeracy skills for tracking revenue and expenses
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience with Salesforce (preferred) or another grant database
  • Ability to work and perform under pressure
  • High energy and outgoing personality
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • Embraces strong fundraising ethics and the Donors Bill of Rights
  • Bilingual in French and English (oral and written) would be an asset
