SUPPORT SERVICES MANAGER

ABOUT US:

Prostate Cancer Foundation BC is an established non-profit grass roots organization, made up primarily of volunteers, serving the Province of BC.  We provide research funding, programs and services via our 20 support groups, and education and awareness to the public. 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a Support Services Manager to join our team.  This is a new role, with the primary function being to work with our support groups.  This includes supporting and helping grow all BC groups, providing speakers and marketing materials, and assisting in many unique functions. Other roles will be to expand our mentoring and reef knot programs, develop plans to achieve strategic goals and create relationships with volunteers. You will work under the direction of the Executive Director. You will work with the BC Support Group Council to guide and mentor the groups as well as nurture relationships with strategic partners. During the event season you will work with our Event Manager to help build and grow our two major fundraising events.

ABOUT YOU:

You are a self-starter who shares a deep commitment to our cause. You preferably have at least a 2-year degree or diploma in a related field with a minimum of three years of experience in a leadership position, preferably in the non-profit sector.  You are a hands-on person with experience overseeing a range of methods from marketing, social media and volunteer engagement. You possess excellent communication skills, including superb writing and the ability to build relationships and garner institutional support from a wide variety of stakeholders and partners.

Your experience working effectively with donors, health professionals and organizations, staff, volunteers and the community is also important. You have great interpersonal, and presentation skills, and find graphic programs easy to use. You have compassion, empathy and are diplomatic. Passion is what you have, and passion is what others see in you.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

You will work out of our Cloverdale office but sometimes you will be required to travel out of the office to meet with volunteers and attend meetings.  You will also need to be available some evenings and weekends as required. This position is full days Monday to Thursday plus the odd evening or weekend event.
