Scouts Canada has an exciting opportunity for a Property Administrative Assistant to join our team in our Central Ontario Service Centre (North York) or National Service Centre (Ottawa).

For more than 100 years, Scouts Canada has brought a world of adventure, outdoor experience, friendship and fun to 17 million Canada youth. We have reinvigorated our program to meet the changing demands of youth and are looking for someone who has experience working with volunteers and supporting day do day office duties.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will provide top-notch administrative support and contribute to the efficient daily to day operations to the Property & Camping Portfolio.

Your to-do list with change daily, but your main responsibilities are:

  • Assist property volunteers and staff in navigating the procedures and steps for reporting, requesting, purchasing, leases, sale and donations regarding national property matters
  • Support and assist other property staff with the submission of reports and recommendations and track their progress through the various provincial and national property committees and boards
  • File and track data collected in the National properties database
  • Audit specific initiatives in the realm of property compliance
  • Provide updates, summaries and data regarding the progress and status of various national properties initiatives
  • Support Property bookings via phone calls and invoices 
  • Assist with revenue generation initiatives

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experienced in working with booking and registration software
  • Exemplary computer skills – Excel, Word, Outlook and file systems management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to create relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Organized in the approach and prioritizing of daily work
  • Self-motivated to achieve results and the ability to work cooperatively with others to achieve shared goals
  • Post-secondary education in a related field.
  • 2 to 3 years’ successful experience in a similar support role

  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and courteously through oral and written communications
