The Opportunity:

One Kids Place Children’s Treatment Centre (the Centre) is currently looking to fill the position of Director of Client Services.  The Director of Client Services has direct clinical oversight of all agency locations and is responsible for the performance and execution of clinical initiatives, metrics, child/youth and family outcome-based goals and clinical audits. The Director of Client Services ensures the highest standard of quality assurance for all clients served and safeguards the agency’s capacity for impact via comprehensive program management; effective supervisory and staff development practices; the cultivation and sustainment of productive working relationships with external partners and funders; and clinical management of the agency’s $10 million annual budget. The Director of Client Services will also work collaboratively with the agency’s Executive Director and the Senior Leadership Team to develop a strategic and innovative long-term plan for the agency’s future and continue OKP’s vision of empowering families for a more inclusive future for our kids. 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Leadership/Management

  • Oversee administrative and clinical function of all client programs, including quality assurance, program evaluation, and human resource management within a unionized environment.
  • Develop and implement an annualized service plan.
  • Facilitate the collaboration and integration of all agency services, both internally (within the team and with other agency teams) as well as externally with OKP’s partners.
  • Perform analysis of program data, and facilitate the continuous cycle of quality improvement for services provided.
  • Ensure clear and measurable standards/benchmarks and performance indicators are in place for evaluating the quality of assessments and clinical interventions.
  • Provide clinical consultation and direction for staff and establishes a presence at all sites having designated office oversight responsibility.
  • Work with the Senior Leadership Team to provide strategic vision and long-term planning for the future of client services.
  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure clinical practices meet the expectations established in the Ministry of Children, Community, and Social Services (MCCSS) transfer payment arrangements; partnership agreements; One Kids Place policies; and provincially regulated health colleges.
  • Ensure all services are consistent with the provisions set out by MCCSS, policies, regulated health colleges and procedures of the agency.
  • In consultation with the Program Managers develops and monitors clinical program budgets and reviews financial position.
  • In consultation with Program Managers ensures compliance with service documentation and reporting procedures.
  • Ensure OKP’s service-delivery model and programs align with external trends.
  • Ensures program development, clinical practice and clinical service philosophy are consistent with the vision, mission and values of One Kids Place.

Community Networking 

  • Builds and sustains productive working relationships with partner organizations and funders.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with community stakeholders to ensure integrated/seamless service delivery, and service delivery planning.
  • Participates on assigned district, regional and provincial committees/working groups as required.

Relationships 

Internal

  • Reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the Clinical Management Team and Senior Leadership Team to meet clinical service objectives.
  • Participates in monthly Board of Director meetings as a resource to the Executive Director.

External

  • Community stakeholders, volunteers, government departments, consultants.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a Master’s Degree in relevant rehabilitation and/or health/human services discipline and at least five (5) years progressively responsible leadership experience
  • 5-10 years’ experience in a paediatric and/or health care setting
  • Experience in quality assurance, data analysis, budget development and fiscal management
  • Ability to design, manage, and implement multiple projects simultaneously, including oversight of professional staff and budget.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to apply relevant legislation (e.g., MCCSS, PHIPA, OHRC, Health and Safety).
  • Evidence of community development and facilitating partnerships
  • Advanced leadership and collaborative skills to work with, motivate, and challenge individuals and teams
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support the Agency in a variety of settings and able to adjust to changing priorities
  • Excellent communication (oral and written including public speaking) and interpersonal skills
  • Travel, valid driver’s licence and proof of insurance required
  • Bilingualism is an asset
