Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Corporate & Foundation Partnerships, the Manager, Corporate & Foundation Partnerships is responsible for management of the organization’s national corporate and foundation philanthropy portfolio; including proactively identifying, cultivating, and securing major gifts.

Essential Duties entail (but not limited to):

  • Work closely with the Executive Directors and Regional Vice-Presidents to identify and implement philanthropic and sponsorship strategies that align with the organization’s objectives and goals.
  • Maintain a portfolio of national corporate and foundation donors and prospects, diversifying the funding base through new industry segment growth.
  • Ensure consistency, quality, accuracy and timeliness of all communications to partners and network consistent with CNIB brand.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to ensure CNIB meets contractual obligations on national corporate and foundation partnerships.
  • Adhere to an integrated central moves management system practice.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in non-profit management and philanthropy.

Qualifications: (Education, Training, Experience):

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Superior interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide strategic solutions to complicated and difficulty problems utilising excellent analytical, problem definition and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional negotiator and selling skills.
  • Ability to create and implement operating plans to keep fundraising activities focused, prioritized, effective, and timely.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstrated success in grant-writing.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, interpret and evaluate information, and make recommendations

Experience and Education:

  • BA or equivalent in business, marketing, fundraising management or another related field or a combination of education and 5+ years of experience in a related field
  • Experience in a central moves management program and prospect clearance process 
  • Comfort and proficiency with CRM, financials, and budgets.
  • Experience valuing and selling sponsorship inventory.
  • Experience working with a non-profit Board of Directors and volunteers.
  • Adhere to applicable privacy laws as well as AFP, CAGP and CNIB standards of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, time management, and organizational skills required. An ability to manage multifaceted projects and a capacity to perform well independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment are essential.
  • Familiarity with corporate social responsibility and the charitable sector an asset.
  • Familiarity with the issues surrounding vision loss is an asset and a desire to be a passionate advocate for CNIB and those we serve.
  • Strategic mindset and creative approaches to deepening relationships and driving results.
  • Must be detail oriented, able to multi-task and to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Familiarity with the issues surrounding vision loss is an asset and a desire to be a passionate advocate for CNIB and those we serve.
