The Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation (ONF) is a non-profit organization funded by the Ontario government that works to prevent neurotrauma (acquired brain injury and spinal cord injury), and to ensure Ontarians with neurotrauma lead full, productive lives. ONF is a leader in moving research to evidence-informed health practices that improve quality of life and health outcomes.

The ONF Knowledge Coordinator, Prevention will have a solid understanding of knowledge management practices. This position will be suited to those who have superior communications skills and technical knowledge of the range of online and in-person communications, knowledge sharing and social media platforms.

While demonstrating sound judgement and a problem-solving mindset, the person in this role coordinates projects based on the goals and objectives of the neurotrauma prevention portfolio, with a focus on the prevention of falls across the lifespan. The Knowledge Coordinator supports the Director, Prevention on program development and implementation of three major projects (Fall Prevention Month, Loop and Loop Junior Fall Prevention Communities of Practice), and others as they arise. Success in this role includes demonstrating an ability to facilitate and maintain relationships with a wide network of Fall Prevention stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate various program and project committees and work groups through tele- and videoconferencing platforms.
  • Develop recruitment, engagement, promotional strategies for the communities of practice.
  • Manage all Prevention social platforms.
  • Contribute to the development of knowledge reviews in liaison with the ONF Knowledge Broker.
  • Oversee communications and marketing requirements for Fall Prevention Month,
  • Liaise with various stakeholders including researchers, health practitioners, policy-makers, administrators, service providers, government employees, caregivers, older adult groups, etc.
  • Technical oversight of custom-built web platforms and content management systems as well as the development and management of relevant content.
  • Support technical requirements for all program activities including videoconferences, telecalls, online meetings, etc.
  • Analysis, including preparation of summaries and reports, of usage metrics using custom content management system and Google Analytics.
  • ONF Prevention Program internal resource for ONF website content, etc.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of experience in a knowledge coordination role or equivalent, preferably in government, research or a health services environment.
  • Undergraduate degree in a health-related field.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize and develop audience-specific materials.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with knowledge translation/mobilization strategies.
  • Superior capability with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) as well as online communications and knowledge sharing platforms (Zoom, Smartsheets, online communities, WordPress, Twitter, Mailchimp, online communities or custom-built websites.)
  • Previous experience working in a not-for-profit environment beneficial.
  • Knowledge of fall prevention an asset.
  • English/French bilingualism an asset.

Salary range starts at $62,245
