Office Manager

West Toronto Community Legal Services is a community-based legal clinic and housing help service provider funded by Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) and the City of Toronto. We provide service to the diverse low-income communities in the western part of the City of Toronto.

We are seeking a motivated and highly organized individual for a permanent full time position as an Office Manager. The Office Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day functions of the office, including managing reception and support staff, maintenance of the office space including supplies and IT systems, human resources functions, and all bookkeeping including accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting. The Office manager is an assistant to the Executive Director and will participate in annual planning and the achievement of the clinic’s strategic goals.

Hours of work are 35 hours per week, and benefits include Group Benefits and a contribution to an RRSP plan. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years bookkeeping experience
  • Minimum three years office management experience
  • Experience managing staff in a unionized workplace

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks, and proficiency in MS Office
  • Experience with human resources functions
  • Demonstrated accuracy with work while meeting all deadlines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people
  • Experience in a not-for-profit environment is an asset
