House of Friendship – Administrative Assistant

We are seeking a mature, organized and independent individual to provide administrative support for our Addiction Services programs. You will be responsible for providing front-line reception to program visitors and callers, data entry and other general office duties.

**This is a part-time, permanent position. Regularly scheduled shifts are Mondays from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm Additional hours available on an as needed basis, with shifts generally on weekdays between the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm. **

Your key responsibilities include:

  1. Reception
  2. Clerical and computer support to program staff
  3. Ordering and picking up supplies
  4. Administrative support to the Program Managers
  5. Program-related assistance
  6. Data entry using both online and internal systems
  7. Organization responsibilities
  8. Health and Safety

 

Your skills and experience include:

  1. Post-secondary certificate or diploma in office administration preferred
  2. Previous experience in office administration
  3. Advanced experience with MS Office products preferred
  4. Customer service focused
  5. Valid ‘G’ driver’s license
  6. Flexible, dependability, good work habits and a positive attitude
  7. Ability to pick up shifts and cover vacations as needed
  8. Strong organizational and communication skills
  9. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  10. Knowledge of addiction issues and related community resources
  11. Ability to work professionally with staff, program participants and community members
  12. Current Standard First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
  13. Interest in working with people who have a variety of needs
  14. Ability to work effectively with people from various cultural backgrounds
  15. Commitment to understand and uphold the mission and values of House of Friendship is expected
