We are small but mighty, supporting the community of Burnaby where the need is greatest. We are seeking a passionate new addition to our not-for-profit team and our ideal candidate has solid experience with the fund development process and engaging donors. If this sounds like you, read on!


The Fundraising Development Officer's sound knowledge of the fund development process includes an understanding of the principles of fundraising and sponsorship relations as well as a background in donor engagement. They will oversee the maximization of public and private donations and major gifts, fulfillment, and special event activities related to sponsorship and fund development.


  • Build out, coordinate, and engage in existing fundraising events/activities.
  • Participate in community fund raising development events as required.
  • Direct mail campaigns.
  • Pitch corporate sponsorship opportunities for fundraising events.
  • Identify, cultivate and solicit prospects at all levels including, private and public sector corporations, foundations and private donors.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with team members, Board of Directors, community leaders, businesses, organizations and partners.
  • Design and assist in the production of marketing and promotional materials for existing events.
  • Promotion of existing events with engagement and awareness via social media.
  • Cultivation and stewardship of new donors, administration of gifts, and recognition of donations.


  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding annual revenue targets.
  • Demonstrated success in soliciting gifts in the $1,000 to $25,000 range.
  • Demonstrated tact and diplomacy, interpersonal and written skills to liaise with donors and direct mail campaigns.
  • Membership in a professional fundraising organization such as AFP or CAGP recommended.
  • Strong organizational skills to determine work priorities and manage multiple projects
  • Meticulous attention to details.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products, Donor Perfect, and electronic databases.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • CFRE designation is an asset.
