Development & Events Coordinator

 Full-time position (40hrs/wk)

FIFE HOUSE is the largest provider of supportive housing and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS in the Greater Toronto Area. Since 1988, we have worked at the intersection of three issues: homelessness/housing, support services and HIV/AIDS. We recognize the importance of collaboration and partnership to deliver meaningful and impactful service to our clients. We bring together expertise from the housing and health sectors to co-create effective support and housing solutions. Fife House has 7 residential programs that serve 280 unique individuals. Housing help support services are provided to an additional 320 individuals through our Coordinated Access and Homeless Outreach Program.

ABOUT THE ROLE: Reporting to the Director of Development and Communications, the Development and Events Coordinator is responsible for Fife House’s two signature events and providing administrative support to the team. The individual is a motivated self-starter that thrives in fast-paced environments, demonstrates a high level of initiative and time management and is a people person.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Coordinating Fife House’s two signature events – A Taste For Life and Shady Queens;
  • Assists with prospect research, utilizing digital resources;
  • Identify and complete proposals and grant applications;
  • Work in collaboration with team to send out monthly newsletter to donors;
  • Prospect and secure monetary and in-kind donations and sponsorships for events
  • Support major gift cultivation and stewardship events;
  • Works with team to update donor information in CRM system (actions, contacts, etc.);
  • Coordinates and supports regular CRM reporting and other ad-hoc reports, as required;
  • Follows an organized filing/document process for electronic and paper documents;
  • Coordinates the reconciliation of monthly financial reports with the Finance Department;
  • Maintains and updates social media on a regular basis;
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent experience;
  • 2-3 years proven experience in a fund development capacity;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and aptitude to learn other software or applications;
  • Experience working with a digital CRM system, familiarity with Raiser’s Edge an asset;
  • Ability to work both as a team and independently to ensure fundraising goals are met;
  • Demonstrated sound judgement regarding confidential and sensitive matters;
  • Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines;
  • Significant experience with the lifecycle of events and project management;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Experience managing a budget;
  • Ability to manage multiple social media channels;
  • Demonstrated organizational, planning and analytical skills;
  • Knowledge of Housing and HIV/AIDS within the current context an asset.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a full-time permanent position. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Coordinator is based at the Fife House head office however they will be expected to access all Fife House site locations as required. There may be situations where flexibility of work schedule will be required surrounding events.
