Position Title:          Clinical Therapist- Social Worker 2

Reporting to:           Manager- Clinical Services

Hours:                       1 F/T- Permanent position- 36.25 hours/week. 

                                  Would also consider applicants interested in a part-time position. (minimum of 3 days per week).

Location:                  Etobicoke or Oakville Location

Salary:                       Salary range $57,447- $75,197 annually for full time clinical therapist.

Position Overview:

To conduct individual assessments, provide individual and family therapy and case management (in accordance to clinical best practice) to children, youth, and their family members who are obtaining service at Radius Child and Youth Services.  To oversee treatment plans and ensure that the recommended treatment goals are implemented in a holistic, effective, and evidence informed manner.

Clinical services may be delivered to children and youth who have been affected by interpersonal abuse including physical, sexual, emotional and neglect. Radius also offers services for children under 12 years old who have engaged in concerning sexual behaviour and adolescents who have engaged in sexually abusive behaviour.  A Clinical Therapist will, as a function of their role, liaise with community partners/services in order to ensure the continuity of care for their clients utilizing a youth and family centered approach.


Radius Child and Youth Services utilizes a multi-modal approach in order to provide clinical service to children, youth, and their family members.  Clinical services/treatment may involve a combination of individual, family, and group therapy.  The Clinical Therapist assumes direct responsibility for the provision of case planning, which may include community partnering. This position could be based out of either our Oakville office (60 Lakeshore Road West) or our Etobicoke office. (1 Eva Road, Etobicoke)

  1. Provides case planning by performing, such tasks as: 
  • Conduct comprehensive individual assessments (in accordance to agreed-upon practice);
  • Participate in formulation of treatment plans and regularly review treatment goals/plans
  • Liaise with community partners;
  • When required, advocate for the needs and rights of their clients/families;
  • Attend court-related appointments (when required), or other client related community meetings;
  • Discharge planning;
  • Maintenance of clinical records and appropriate recording of case-related activities in accordance to professional regulations/standards, or agency polices;
  • Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Services Manager or their designate.
  1. Provides clinical/treatment services:
  • Provide evidence-based individual and family therapy;
  • Co-facilitate and/or design therapeutic groups for children, youth, and/or family members (i.e., related to intrafamilial sexual abuse, sexualized behaviours, or youth who have harmed sexually);
  • Participate in regular peer and individual supervision;
  • Attend educational/training sessions (when required) in order to carry-out duties as a Clinical Therapist;
  • Participate in professional development activities to ensure a high level of knowledge, i.e. attendance at meetings, conferences, trainings etc.
  • Support research projects and program evaluation;
  • Supervise students as required.
  1. Qualifications, Clinical Knowledge, and Skills:
  • A Masters Level Degree in Social Work (or equivalent) from an accredited university of recognized standing;
  • Must be registered/eligible for registration with an appropriate professional college. (in compliance with the Psychotherapy Act, 2007)
  • A minimum of one year of direct clinical experience providing treatment to children, youth and their families;
  • Sound knowledge of clinical best practices in the area of intrafamilial sexual abuse, children exhibiting sexualized behaviours and youth who have harmed sexually;
  • Strong knowledge in applicable theories and evidence-based treatment modalities;
  • Understanding of related/applicable legal and legislative procedures (CFSA, PHIPA, YCJA, etc.);
  • Ability to function within a multidisciplinary team;
  • Strong verbal and written communication;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Bilingualism an asset;
  • Available to work 1 evening per week to provide clinical services
