Position Overview

The Summer Student (SS) position is a full‐time temporary position intended specifically for postsecondary students who are enrolled in school and are returning to school in September 2019.

The primary responsibilities of the SS are to support a team on a wide range of administrative functions as well as supporting project/conference teams in the planning of events. The SS enjoys working in teams, has excellent communication and data management skills, is highly professional and aligned with CDHO’s core values.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Effective and professional communication, both verbal and written, at all times
  2. Schedule appointments, meetings, and teleconferences and prepare meeting packages
  3. Research pricing structures and contact lists
  4. Prepare and organize conference/meeting supplies and materials
  5. Respond to phone enquiries
  6. Draft and organize process documents and template documents
  7. Plan, organize, coordinate and manage daily assigned work
  8. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

  • Postsecondary students who are enrolled in school and are returning to school in September 2019

Demonstrated Skills

  • Fluently bilingual in English and French an asset
  • Exceptional computer-related skills, sound working knowledge of computers and software (e.g. Microsoft Office – PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Publisher), Adobe Acrobat, are considered an asset
