POSITION DESCRIPTION:

At Stella’s Place, we’re committed to innovating and delivering effective mental health and recovery services to young adults.  

This position is an opportunity to collaboratively implement Stella’s Place clinical and recovery programming using an integrated peer/clinical model while delivering evidence-based interventions. You will participate in the continued development, and oversight of integrated clinical and peer support programming, and an infrastructure that supports a peer recovery model. 

You have extensive experience as both a clinician and as a clinical supervisor/manager; are comfortable with new technologies; have experience with an interdisciplinary approach; and welcome an opportunity to collaborate and harness the knowledge of young adults with lived experience with mental health challenges, and have rich experiences and knowledge to offer.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities of the manager, clinical and recovery services include but are not limited to:

  • Provide clinical and administrative oversight and guidance to a team of clinicians and peer supporters
  • Ensure a high level of performance from your team, delivering services from a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and anti-oppressive approach;
  • Manage change effectively in an ever-changing environment;
  • Support the development, adaptation and implementation of innovation that is grounded in evidence-based clinical practices;
  • Develop effective strategies to engage participants, and community partners;
  • Represent clinical programs internally and externally;
  • Ensure a safe, healthy, supportive environment for young adults and staff;
  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with other community-based organizations; 
  • Contribute to the use of quality, health, participant satisfaction, and outcome measures for all relevant programs, ensuring a model of continuous quality improvement is maintained;
  • Participate in educational activities and initiatives to enhance the skill, experience, and knowledge of Stella’s Place staff.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED

  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations, utilizing culturally-responsive, trauma-informed and anti-oppressive approaches 
  • Masters degree or specialization in mental health-related discipline (including membership in a professional college) such as Social Work, Nursing, or Counselling Psychology
  • Experience supporting staff 
  • Experience with program development
  • Experience with project management 
  • Sound knowledge and experience delivering clinical treatment approaches including, but not limited to DBT, Narrative, ACT, Mindfulness Approaches, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, 
  • Experience providing clinical services to young adults 16 – 29 years of age
  • Experience working in community mental health 
  • Experience working collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience with using Client Information Management Systems, Personal Health Record management and Health Information Custodian requirements; demonstrated ability to learn and use new software systems and online chat platforms 
  • You will have a strong clinical foundation, including skills / knowledge related to:
    • Unique developmental issues of transition-aged young adults
    • Evidence-based clinical program treatment modalities
    • Clinical consultation, including assessment, goal setting, and recovery planning
    • Whole health – fitness, nutrition, primary health, and mindfulness-based stress reduction
    • Recovery supports (peer led, education, employment, transition coaching)
    • Evaluation research and outcome measures

PREFERRED ASSETS:

  • Applicants who have lived experience with mental health challenges would be considered an asset to the team.  We encourage applications from diverse racial and cultural communities and individuals who identify as LGBTQ.

 

REPORTING:

Regular communication, coaching, mentoring, personal and professional development, and evaluation will take place with the Director or Program Operations on a regular basis. A Vulnerable Sector Check will be required.
