Position Type: Full-time 35 hours/week

Reporting To: Manager of Operations

Compensation Type: Salary $42,000 plus benefits

Location of Office: Brampton


Reporting to the Manager of Operations, and working closely with the Executive Director, the Community Relations Assistant is responsible for internal and external relations, including management of website, social media, meetings, and trainings; and event coordination.


Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain the agency’s external presence through website, social media, and general inquiries
  • Develop and sustain relationships with community media (online, newspapers, and radio)
  • Coordinate logistics related to training and development events and/or community relations events
  • Assist with the volunteer program
  • Support Executive Director with correspondence, scheduling, data management, and Board related activities
  • Support fundraising initiatives
  • Develop all print collateral, including newsletters, annual reports, brochures, event posters, and other key materials
  • Assist with management of office inventory
  • Other tasks as assigned

You are a key component of the organization and value your role in enabling other arms of the organization to fulfill responsibilities with greater ease and efficiency.


  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in community relations and administrative support
  • Demonstrated understanding of the value and importance of nurturing inclusion (ideally celebration) of diverse racial, cultural, linguistic, sexual, gender, ability, and other experiences
  • Experience in event planning an asset
  • Knowledge of website and print content development
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate in one or more languages is a strong asset
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, data management software, graphic design platforms, email communications platforms, and social media
  • Excellent organizational, coordination, and planning skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of office procedures, including records management, electronic mail and calendar software applications, meetings coordination
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work outside regular working hours (evening and weekends at times)
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license, insurance and reliable vehicle is a must
  • Vulnerable sector screening may be required
  • Interest in and support for the mission of Moyo
