Job purpose:

Working directly with senior nonprofit leaders to plan, execute and evaluate direct response fundraising appeals that raise money to: eliminate cancers, protect the environment, provide housing for families in need, fund the purchase of hospital equipment and support many other great causes.

In this role you can expect to:

  • Collaborate directly with senior leaders at Canadian charities
  • Provide strategic fundraising counsel and advice
  • Apply fundraising and direct marketing expertise in an environment that is open to new ideas
  • Be responsible for budgets with over $1,000,000 in expenses and $3,000,000 revenue
  • Develop innovative solutions to fundraising challenges
  • Motivate, coach and develop a team of Account Coordinators
  • Work in the heart of vibrant and dynamic Kensington Market

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Lead your team in the development and presentation of Annual Plans, Campaign Strategy, Budgets and Results Reporting
  • Constantly seek to improve results by identifying opportunities, proposing tests, seeking out and sharing best practices
  • Translate data and results into insights and actions
  • Be the expert on assigned client’s business: mission, DM program, brand, project status and results
  • Manage, monitor and ensure project workflow with ultimate responsibility for keeping everything on-time and on-budget


  • Post-Secondary Graduate from a Fundraising, Business, Marketing or similar program
  • At least 3 years relevant experience, preferably in Fundraising and/or Direct Marketing
  • At least one year of team leadership / people management experience
  • Strong understanding of direct-marketing principals, A/B test design and results analysis
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills; ability to listen, understand, and communicate effectively and confidently
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision
  • Creative thinker and analytical problem solver
  • A self-starter with an ongoing awareness and responsiveness to client needs
  • Confident presenter who can effectively communicate new concepts and ideas
  • Technically competent and more than familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
