Did you know that Canada has one of the highest prevalence of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in the world? Where the body’s immune system starts attacking the gut causing inflammation, pain, frequent and unpredictable bouts of diarrhea, bleeding, malnutrition, and if untreated could also lead to wasting and death? Where the highest peak of symptom development is during the prime of an individual’s life (16-30 years of age)? Where prevalence is predicted to rise to about 1% of the Canadian population in 10 years?

The candidate will also be responsible for tracking and fulfilling key activities related to grant/sponsorship requirements.
