What we do

At BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, we’re on a quest to ensure every kid in the province receives the best health care imaginable. As a fundraising organization, we inspire communities and people to support BC Children’s Hospital, along with its world-class research institute, mental health facility and rehabilitation centre.

Our work makes a profound difference. From helping get the boldest research ideas off the ground to supporting the most advanced equipment, together we are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in children’s health care. This is no small task—which is why we’re looking for passionate people to join our team and help propel our mission forward.

You will verify instructions from donors, code the gift, enter donor information into a database and check work for accuracy. Also included in the role is preparation of cash and cheques for delivery to the bank, as well as processing of credit card payments. After input of the donation the casuals assist with issuing of tax receipts to the donor. Verification of donor information includes direct donor contact, most commonly done over the phone. This role also involves extensive work with data using both our Raiser’s Edge database and Microsoft Excel.

What you bring

Your superb organizational skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skills are critical to the role. You are patient, analytical, and methodical and love to solve problems. You have a professional manner and the ability to interact tactfully and diplomatically with a wide variety of people.

Additional Information

These positions are casual, therefore no hours are guaranteed, however, when volume increases as a result of direct marketing initiatives or fundraising events, additional support is required to ensure donations are processed effectively and efficiently as part of our commitment to excellent donor relations.

This position has proved to be a great job for students or for those individuals who do not rely on regular hours. Casuals will be called in to work for hours that fall Monday to Friday between 8:30am to 5pm, however, some weekends may be required during busy event seasons such as April – June (Jeans Day, Miracle Weekend and Race for the Kids) and November (Crystal Ball and A Night of Miracles).
