Job Summary:            Full Time


The CPF National Projects Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and promoting existing CPF National initiatives and supporting CPF’s contributions to partner initiatives for youth, parent, educator and official language stakeholders. 

The Coordinator oversees annual youth and member projects, such as the national finals of our youth French public speaking contest, FSL advocacy breakfast on the ‘Hill’, and our biennial members’ conference as well as increasing user engagement with web-based opportunities such as the ‘Where are they now?’ and ‘Keys to French’ projects.

The Coordinator is responsible for developing content for project communications, specifically a monthly internal newsletter and posting content to the website and social media channels. He / she will increase organization visibility by developing partnerships and participation in FSL education initiatives, from youth video contests to workshops at FSL teacher conferences.


Employment Conditions:  

On contract until March 31, 2020 with renewal on a yearly basis. Starting salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications ($42,000 – $56,000) annually. The selected candidate’s performance will be evaluated after the completion of a three-month probationary period.


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both French and English. Bilingualism is essential.
  • 2 to 5 years’ work experience in a communication, project management position. University degree or college certificate/diploma in a relevant field (communications, marketing, project management, event planning); or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and public relations skills, adaptable, able to take initiative and work well independently and within a team; experience connecting and networking with partner groups.
  • Experience coordinating content for a member newsletter and experience managing organizational social media accounts and websites.
  • Strong technology skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Publisher) and Web-based applications (WordPress, GoToMeeting) is a requirement.


Additional Criteria:

  • Candidates must legally be entitled to work in Canada.
  • Able to work evenings and weekends as required. The position will require occasional travel.
  • Experience in the volunteer/not-for-profit sector is considered an asset.
  • Experience planning and executing communications pre-, during, and post-
  • Experience in member and volunteer driven organizations are strong assets.
