Temp FT Bail Verification Couns


The Bail Verification and Supervision program is designed to support the existing justice system and the efficiency of the court system by ensuring that individuals otherwise entitled to release from detention are not detained due to lack of financial resources or community connections.  The Bail program supports individuals, mentally capable of understanding the expectations for the Bail program, who are unable to obtain surety and who are willing and motivated to participate, make positive changes in their lives.

As a Bail Verification and Supervision Counsellor, you would:

  • Assess to determine eligibility for the program
  • Manage case load of clients involved in the program
  • Develop service plans and monitor compliance with court-imposed sanctions
  • Respond to client needs through referrals, crisis intervention, and counselling
  • Provide information and liaise with resources, supports and referral sources

Hourly wage range: Band 2- $21.17 to $24.03 plus shift premiums and group health, dental, accidental death & dismemberment, and travel insurance benefits

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with some flexibility required to meet the needs of the program

Start date: as soon as possible

Contract ends: October 2, 2020


  • Have a college diploma in a Human/Social Services field
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ combined student placement and/or paid experience working with individuals involved in the justice system
  • Possess a knowledge of the Criminal Justice System
  • Be proficient in MS Office and be familiar with databases
  • Have access to reliable transportation
