Community Living Prince Edward is a not-for-profit FOCUS accredited organization which advocates for children, youth and adults with an intellectual disability and their families. We exist to facilitate the full participation, inclusion and citizenship of people with an intellectual disability in the life of the community. We currently have an opening for a:
Supervisor, Residential Supports & Services
Reporting to the Director, Supports and Services, this position will be responsible for the supervision of full-time and relief employees working in community home settings for young adults, adults and seniors with an intellectual disability. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and guiding employees using a person directed planning approach to provide individualized services while aligning corresponding resources to facilitate people’s participation as contributing, active and engaged citizens in our community. In addition, duties include overseeing department budgets, employee professional development, in a unionized environment, and health & safety in keeping with current legislative requirements. The successful candidate must be a creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative approaches to service provision.
The successful candidate will be a graduate with a post-secondary degree or diploma in the Human Services field and have a solid understanding of the values of the Community Living movement. Priority will be given to candidates with a specific background in creating complex plans of support with people with life transitions including youth to adulthood. This will include a demonstrated understanding of the social services industry and its changing nature. The incumbent will have at least four (4) years of progressively responsible positions within the developmental services sector. Your excellent organizational and time management skills, along with your dynamic leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, are required to complement our current leadership team.
