RainCity Housing provides housing and innovative services to people living with mental health and substance use issues, and other challenges. Every day, a team of 700 RainCity employees, working in over 25 workplaces, provides housing and supports to over 2,000 people in the Lower Mainland (Greater Vancouver, Fraser Valley, Sunshine Coast).
Human Resources and Labour Relations is responsible for leading policy and practice related to RainCity employees. This department also plays a key role in the training and development of RainCity staff and management. On a daily basis, this integral team supports RainCity Leadership in managing RainCity workplaces. Areas of expertise include workplace investigations, labour relations, collective agreement interpretation, workplace policy, grievance handling, settlement negotiations, WorkSafeBC claims, occupational health and safety, long-term disability, layoff and termination, job classification, return-to-work, accommodation, and performance management.
To ensure the organization is best able to support staff and programs, RainCity is seeking a Director, Human Resources & Labour Relations. Reporting to the Executive Directors, the Director is responsible for ensuring strategic, effective, consistent and legal people practices and policies throughout the organization. Additionally, the Director will design, develop and deliver strategies and programs in the areas of employee engagement, labour relations, health and safety, training and development, and compensation and benefits.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced human resource leader with a proven track record of expertise across all facets of HR. Other characteristics include high emotional intelligence, with the ability to effectively mentor and support the professional development of others. This role will require experience and passion for the non-profit sector, with the ability to understand, communicate and support the mission and values of RainCity Housing, including the principles of Housing First and Harm Reduction.
